I joined the club back in October 🍂 when ‘A Short Hike’ was being featured and thought it was great way to discover new games, and particularly small & relaxing indie games that didn’t take too much time to finish (stupid adulthood getting in the way of gaming!). I also liked the idea of a little community to chat games with that might not necessarily revolve around big and, typically, soulless, AAA games 💀 I’ve been gaming since the NES days and am a certified Nintendo kid, with the Mario and Zelda tattoos to prove it, and also a Rareware & gamecube obsessive 🎮. My all time favourite games include Bioshock Infinite, Skyrim, Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime & Donkey Kong Country, but in recent years have grown to love small indie games like Moonglow Bay, Tinykin, Wild at Heart and anything published by Annapurna interactive 💛. When I’m not gaming, I’m hanging out with my partner, Beagle (pictured) and 2 tortie cats in beautiful Cornwall 🌊. terminé #CitizenSleeper sur Steam Deck. Un mélange de RPG narratif et visual novel en pleine sauce de Hard SF. On se retrouve dans la peau d'un "Sleeper" dans une station spatiale, sans trop savoir d'ou l'on vient, ni ce que l'on fout là, ni qui l'on est ni ... J'attendais une traduction FR pour me lancer dedans, car je le savais bavard ce jeu. Et j'avais pas envie de passer à côté d'éléments narratifs à cause de ma propre traduction approximative de longs pavés. Et j'ai bien fait, car oui c'est effectivement très bavard - compter pourtant 7-8h de jeu uniquement - et la grande qualité du truc est dans ce que cela raconte. Le gameplay n'est pas absent pour autant : on doit effectuer des choix de dialogues, d'activités, on explore, on cherche de la bouffe,... Le jeu est découpé en "cycles" (= journées) au début desquels, on se voit attribuer jusqu' à 6 valeurs de dés. Ces valeurs là, nous serviront avec plus ou moins de réussite (en fonction du chiffre obtenu) à accomplir des taches, activités etc... qui feront progresser l'histoire principale. L'ambiance sonore est bien chouette, très "space compatible". Mais le gros plus, sont les visuels effectués par Guillaume Singelin (@blackysan ), dont le style est immédiatement reconnaissable (surtout avec son récent Frontier dont l"univers est assez proche). Vraiment très plaisant, comme un bon bouquin de SF à la The Expanse.. jamais stressant, ni punitif. Vivement la suite !

I am a total sucker for sci-fi/roleplaying/tabletop games, especially if I can play them on the go. So here are 3 titles I recommend you + 1 bonus! Out There Omega: this is a “choose your own adventure” kind of game, with a high level of resources management and luck involved. Random events, a procedural universe to fly through, with one mission only: go back home. Hard and relentless, this one can feel a bit frustrating at times, but I enjoy it a lot. Tharsis: a group of astronauts need to survive 10 weeks in their travel to Mars. Pure dice management and decision making that will require a lot of improvisation and planning. This one is like a tabletop game and you can also play with friends, assigning to each player a different role among the 9 crew members you can choose from. Quick and very rewarding. Citizen Sleeper: a more story-driven experience, very close to an actual cyberpunk RPG. With a lot of reading and choice-making, you’ll be living on Erlin’s Eye, a space colony as an android worker trying to survive in this interstellar capitalistic nightmare. Bonus: Infinite Space on NDS. This is a unique JRPG experience, with space exploration, anime-style cutscenes, starship combats and a very complicated system that can be quite discouraging. There’s no walking, no character models, no combat and I’m sure just by mentioning these facts about 90% of you closed minded heathens have already swiped on. But for the 5 of you which found that tid bit of info on this game enticing. Hear me out. You play as a sleeper, a Sentient conscience that’s just escaped from a mysterious company to hopefully live a life of freedom and comfort. And that right there is your entire goal for the game. To Live. You arrive on the Eye, a giant run down space station, bustling with people and companies and opportunities and it’s up to you to build a life for yourself out there on your own. Pros: •AMAZING WRITING •Impactful storytelling •SO much CHOICE!! •Lovely art style •great audio design Cons: •No movement •No combat •Basically all reading •my fellow ADD peeps may find it’s a struggle to pay attention/follow along with this one. (I still enjoyed it despite this though) Was surprised how much I enjoyed this one!! Much fun!
