Dîtes-vous que chaque déclenchement pour faire une photo était rythmé par, un nettoyage de l'objectif qui se recouvrait d'eau en quelques secondes seulement, mais aussi moi qui tentait au mieux de protéger mon appareil sous mon pauvre sweat détrempé pour ne pas l'abimer. Mon ancien appareil n'est pas tropicalisé donc cela rendait la manœuvre très périlleuse de poursuivre dans ces conditions, couplé au bon rhume le lendemain, mais comme dirait les anciens "ça forge la jeunesse" 😂 Notre panel continue de se diversifier en continuant évidemment avec les classiques 403, les tracteurs de campagnes, une très belle CX Athéna, et notamment un tracteur Lamborghini. Citroën CX25 The unfortunate demise of Citroën in the United States was ended with this car. Originally, the CX was engineered to comply with US standards, but just as it was about to hit the market, the standards were amended so that all vehicles must have bumpers at specific heights to withstand 5 mph hits. This effectively banned any car with height adjustable suspension. Citroën however was a pioneer of suspension technology for years, going back to the DS with its hydro-pneumatic suspension which was also fitted to this car. Instead of air ride which many luxury cars come with today, Citroën’s set up used a hydraulic fluid that absorbed the imperfections in the road and was capable of adjusting the ride height in the same way modern air-ride can. Thus as the brand’s flagship was not capable of meeting the new regulations and as sales were already beginning to trickle, the double chevron pulled out of North America. Eventually however in the 80s, several importers went through the expensive process of crash testing and federalizing the CX to meet US regulations. However, they were forced to sell them at an unreasonably high price since Citroën refused to wholesale them the CX and there were even copyright and legal issues, all of which forced them to stop sales. 🇫🇷: 1974-1991 Citroën CX 25 GTi is for some the last “real” Citroën before Peugeot took over the company in in 1974. Yes, it was launched basically under the Peugeot supervision but all the development happened on Citroën terms. The power came from a M2 I4 water-cooled OHV engine displacing 2.5L. It produced 135HP/202Nm mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. Of course, as any respectable Citroën would have it, it came with the hydropneumatics self-leveling suspension. Aujourd'hui, on retient principalement la #renault25 pour ses versions Baccara et V6 Turbo qui ont marqué les années 80/90 par leur luxe et leurs performances, totalement inédites pour des voitures françaises. Au lancment en 1984, sa ligne est moderne, aérodynamique et elle a fière allure face aux récentes Audi 100 C3, Mercedes W124, Volvo 760, SAAB 9000 et Lancia Thema, les références de la catégorie. Les #peugeot505 et #citroencx , déjà âgées de 5 et 10 ans, en dépit de leurs qualités routières et de leurs très bons moteurs Diesel sont toutefois dépassées au niveau de la présentation, de l'aérodynamique et surtout, elles sont vues et revues, un mauvais point pour un segment supérieur où le client cherche la dernière nouveauté et les dernières technologies. Pourtant, la majorité des clients ont simplement cherché une voiture adaptée à une grande famille aisée, idéale pour partir en vacances, statutaire mais pas ostentatoire, un segment dont #renault était le spécialiste depuis 1965 avec les 16, 20 et 30. @lomographyfrance kindly lent me a Lomomatic 110 for a test. Interesting camera with flash, iso choose (100, 200, 400), multiple exposure but the shutter feel is a bit vague. I shoot b&w for the moment as I no longer have C-41 chemistry for the moment. Citroën DS & CX 😱 Colombia Manuel Fernández Jaramillo fue uno de mis colegas en la revista Automóvil Panamericano como por 10 años... si leyeron la revista en los últimos 15 años, seguramente leyeron alguna prueba en la que Manuel manejó y testeó cada aspecto y resquicio de cualquier coche que pasara por sus manos. Bueno, estoy muy contento de que Manuel debute como contribuidor de AutoArqueología desde su natal Colombia, donde se encontró este par de Citroëns muy casual, que seguramente son del mismo dueño. El DS nos debe ser muy familiar a los mexicanos, pero el CX nunca llegó a nuestro país, una auténtica desgracia porque es uno de los diseños de la marca francesa.
