Remember that sinus infection I had? I finished antibiotics on Saturday morning and felt like it had all cleared up ok. Sunday was ok. But yesterday, my sore throat came back. And today it felt even worse. So after lots of debating because y’all know how much I love going to the doctors, I went back to urgent care. Luckily, there was basically no wait. COVID, flu and strep tests were negative but they think I might have strep that’s resistant to the previous antibiotic. Rapid strep tests are notoriously false so they sent a sample to culture. They gave me another 10 day course of antibiotics and I’m hoping this will do the trick. I feel like I’m just going from infection to infection. And in between I get a fun bonus yeast infection on my skin (spoiler alert: very painful). On the plus side, it seems like we are starting to get my mast cells under control. I’ve been starting a new medication about weekly and last week’s addition has given me a tiny bit more of energy. Downside: all of these meds make me very drowsy and getting up in the mornings has been terrible so I’m hitting the snooze button way too many times.
