I never realize how much I need or love the sun until it was a beautiful day in this unpredictable Cleveland spring. The weather was in the 60s and it was perfect for a beautiful sundress and having the windows down! I just had to get an iced coffee! I chose to purposely visit @risingstarcoffee ‘s location with the garage door. Visiting was quite sentimental as the last time I was here was five years ago, the start of my freshman year of college. I had randomly decided to join a coffee tour to get to know the downtown area and I vividly remember this being the second stop during the tour. I remember hearing the barista share background about the café, the beans, and overall being so welcoming! He even gave me a free bag of coffee beans from Latin America! (As a freshman it felt like true love….. oh boy) When I visited, it was a lot smaller than I remember, but I was surprised that I actually got some work done at the high tops. (There are a few charging outlets there) But in my opinion, I recommend either bringing light work, charging your laptop in advance, or not to bring work at all. I see this more as a social cafe. Oh and bring a light jacket just incase! Parking can be challenging as this is located in Ohio city (Hingetown technically) but I’ve never had too much trouble. You can find parking if you’re lucky near the side lot or street park. The bathroom is located behind the barista bar, a little unconventional and small, but just ask a barista and they can point the direction out to you. I think if they lightened up the bathroom it would feel more spacious. A little about me, I love coffee. Oh you already knew that? A little more about me, I also LOVE to read! I actually read 32 books last year! So when I visited @visiblevoicebooks for the second time I just always have to buy myself a book! Catching up with a friend I introduced her to @visiblevoicebooks ! We strolled and scanned down the beautiful aisles of books and I was lucky to find the prequel to the Hunger Games series (a book that’s been on my list for a while). I feel like I could stay here for hours. After finding my book, we settled down in the cafe area of the book store. Selections are small but there are some options for everyone. They offer drip coffee, tea, and different selections of wine. With of course, cream, milk, sugar, honey, & etc. I could see myself hanging out here for a calm morning or a winding down kind of night. The bathroom was a lot bigger than I expected and I really vibed with the wallpaper, it was eye catching. Although seating is super small I could see myself studying here, I felt like with the atmosphere I could really focus and I love that it’s open pretty late. As far as parking goes it is in Tremont, so it depends on how busy the time of day is because everything is street parking. Although I will say, Tremont street parking in my opinion is easier than Lakewood. Overall the coffee was alright but I’d say visiting is more for the experience, especially if you are big on reading. On one of the coldest days in Cleveland, I spent my unexpected snow day from work at @gypsybeanscle ! This place definitely has to be one of the most welcoming cafes I’ve visited thus far! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by all the baristas and after mentioning I was new to the spot they took the time to share their lunch menu, show me all their delicious treats, and answer any questions I had. @gypsybeanscle has been on my list since day one of starting this blog. Although I will say the layout of the cafe was not what I expected it’s definitely an optimal spot for studying, especially since it’s open pretty late. I especially loved that they had real food rather than just simple muffin or bagel. I got some work done for a bit and plug access was no problem for me. I ordered a white chocolate latte and one of their homemade cinnamon rolls and it was sooooooo delicious 🤤 I have no idea how I haven’t been to this cafe sooner. The bathroom was cute, I liked the red door. And finally, I was pleasantly surprised to find a good size parking lot behind the cafe.
