This week is science week and in Buds room we were mixing colours. To do this the children were firstly pointing at the coloured pots they wanted to use showing independence and allowing choice. Next we were squirting the coloured water on to the cotton pads which supports the children’s fine motor skills. The children were watching the colours mix together and we were talking about how the colours are mixing. The impact of this is Expressive Arts and Design which links to Creating with Materials because they were using different materials to do this. GREEN ROOM this morning we have enjoyed a sensory tough tray, exploring different textures. We have used descriptive language such as fluffy, crunchy bumpy and smooth. We enjoyed moulding the pipe cleaners into new shapes and made funny faces by making crazy moustaches and headbands with them.
