Bit of a boring post but.....as our house is L Shaped we only did a loft conversion across the front part. This created an awesome landing area and two rooms. We decided not to develop the whole L and kept the back bit, the bit above our bedroom for storage. We moved a loft hatch and ladder from our bedroom ceiling and today we had it boarded out. Aim is to move some stuff from the garage to the loft and then work on splitting down the garage into a gym area and storage area. The whole loft space of our house is massive! It's pretty unbelievable for a new build house! The two rooms we created in the loft are both an awesome size (pics on feed) and now this too. The least aesthetic Instagram post yet? Relocating the boiler into the loft! 🔥🏠 We love our Davidsons Barnwell, but there simply isn’t enough practical space in the kitchen or utility room for a small to medium sized family. After three years of living with it, we decided a change was needed. Whilst we scurry away making some alterations to the utility room and kitchen (without ripping the £££ upgraded kitchen out!) the first and most obvious solution has been to relocate the boiler into the loft. This will buy up some incredibly valuable space for the next part of our plan - watch this space. This hasn’t proven to be disruptive and was done within a long afternoon, thanks to our local boiler and plumbing specialist. It might not be terribly aesthetically pleasing for Instagram, but this is more about practicality and reconfiguring for family life than anything else. This is the elusive colour I've been searching for for 18 months, and I found it thanks to Justine at @thesuffolknewbuild ✨️ It's Pale Calm Curlow from @sophiejamesdecorpaint 💕 The perfect pinky neutral for our hallway. Every neutral I'd tried was too yellow, too purple or too grey but this is just right! Not only is it a gorgeous colour but it's super creamy ... Imagine painting with double cream meets Georgio armani luminous silk foundation! 100% recommend! I still love the picture rail panelling I did in November. It has made the hall feel wider. This hallway isn't done though... The rad needs changing to a vertical and the front door gold hardware just isn't us.
