Hello! I should probably stop hiding behind the camera for once and introduce myself! My name is Aya (pronounced ‘I-ya) and I am the curator of In This Colour. I am half English, half Egyptian and I am based in the the beautiful Devon countryside, on the edge of Dartmoor with my very supportive boyfriend Josh, and our little cocker spaniel Maisy. After graduating in Fashion Design back in 2019 I have been so eager to explore new styles and movements within the creative industry. My time at university, internships and freelance work have been an amazing experience for me to experiment with many new processes and techniques in order to ultimately determine my own skills and therefore where I can best contribute to the industry. As of last March I took on two part time jobs alongside creating my business. I am a studio assistant for a colourful and vibrant festival fashion brand and my other role is as a seamstress for a bespoke curtain company. So luckily for me my entire week is full of creativity and being surrounded by talented individuals. I’m incredibly excited to see what the rest of the year brings for my small business as I’m always up for new ideas and trying out new things!
