What I have been working on lately 😎♻️. The little silver pendants & earrings have been made from scrap left over from making my sea glass jewelry. So easy to do........... You don't need any special tools just scrap silver, torch, charcoal block, stamps, hammer & liver of sulphur. Be prepared to go head first in to that rabbit hole tho 🤣😂🤣😂🤦. The first ones were just an experiment. I really enjoyed making them so will definitely do more but less matchy matchy next time 😁🔥♻️.

I can’t believe a year has gone by since I made this beauty! A classic triple cluster ring with 3 stunning rubies ❤️ This ring was a wonderful gift from a husband to his lucky wife, to wear for their daughter’s wedding - how romantic is that?! Those of you that know my family may notice that the style of this ring looks quite familiar - the inspiration came from the surprise engagement ring my son-in-law @jacob_harrell asked me to make to gave to my daughter @ambershelley_95. My client has always admired the style of Amber’s ring so asked me to make something similar, but using rubies instead of sapphires. Helen at @justgemsuk sourced the beautiful rubies for me. I then sat down with my lovely customers to choose the size of the diamonds. It was important to get this correct as the ring was going to be quite wide with the size of the rubies and we needed to ensure the ring suited her hand perfectly. When the diamonds had been picked I set about making the mount. I chose to do this in the traditional way - all by hand. I used 18ct gold and platinum sheet metal in order to get the fine detail needed for this setting. I really enjoyed making this stunning ring and my customers were thrilled with it 🥰

Today's intro is @rockandpetaljewellery Rock and Petal was created by Gilly Jakeway, jewellery designer who makes contemporary eco jewellery using recycled sterling silver, ethically sourced gemstones and reclaimed materials. She says: ‘Sustainability and reducing the environmental and social impact of the jewellery industry is very important to me. Mining for new metals is very invasive. It can result in erosion, loss of biodiversity and the contamination of soil and water from refining processes so my aim is to use as little new material as possible.’ Gilly originally studied Fashion and Textile Design at Ravensbourne College of Art followed by a degree in Surface Pattern Design at Leicester De Montfort University. She later studied photography and painting at Chelsea College of Art. After spending many years working in the knitwear and interior industries she returned to her first love of design in 2010 by selling her own artwork and accessories at local craft fairs and online. She draws inspiration for her current work from the shapes and forms of nature but with an abstract and often geometric interpretation.
