So happy to have these queens join my collection! I almost gave up on them, they were such a stressful release but I’m glad I didn’t give up on trying to get them🩵🥹 it’s crazy having a snow queen Elsa so similar to the oh grail that so many of us missed but the Disney store really delivered by giving us another chance at getting her. Richard Chan is the designer of this doll. The idea of representing Princess Aurora as Briar Rose is a brilliant idea, because he gives the character an unusual diversity. Briar Rose is in fact Princess Aurora when she still doesn't know her identity, and she is in the little house in the woods together with the three fairy godmothers. Chan's interpretation embraces a very oriental style that in every way makes the connection of designer and doll concrete. Furthermore, the symbol of this dress is a flower, which is in perfect oriental/Asian style. In my opinion it gives us an accurate idea. Starting from Briar Rose's hat is decorated with golden flower stems with pink flowers. This doll's entire color palette hovers around light pink and purple, which are colors we don't immediately connect to Aurora. The fitted dress has a covered neck, but a very unique woven neckline, and reaches up to mid-thigh. At the end of the dress we can see that six cut out petals cover the rest of the legs creating this shade between pink and purple. The doll is equipped with a kimono which is always colored with the same colors, but with rich linear floral parts with silver thread and pink rhinestones. @dariavinog was one of the most innovative designers in my opinion, a nice shout out to this interpretation of Cinderella 👠. Let's start from the assumption that this doll transmits pure elegance to me, even if many have criticized the fact that she had trousers, I must say that it is precisely her strong point! 🤩 Cinderella has a flawless face, framed by platinum blonde hair that she collects in a low hairstyle and decorated with bird-shaped clips. There are as many references to the film as you want, in fact even the earrings remind me of the soap bubbles that Cinderella held in her hand while she sang. Her outfit is a skin-tight jumpsuit packed with silver spares and with a sweetheart neckline, her shoulders and arms are covered in a semi-transparent light blue fabric. What obviously strikes you is the skirt over this jumpsuit, also rich in silver embroidery and a very expensive and elegant fabric. The latter is closed by the same clasps that characterized Cinderella's hairstyle, in fact we see the two birds again in the center of her dress. Her shoes obviously have the crystal effect and I find them spectacular with this iridescent effect that we also find in Cinderella's earrings and bag, which if you haven't noticed is a clock that says midnight! Designer Snow White before and after 🍎👑 After being unsure what I wanted to do with this doll, I decided to keep her in this look but make it closer to Steve Thompson’s artwork (next slide) 👑 I wasn’t the biggest fan of this doll originally. Although I appreciated the details and how different she was, it just felt off to me and I wasn’t really getting Snow White vibes from her 🤔 but after working on her, I definitely love her a lot more now! 🥹 I had to tidy up her skirt as well as adding a few rhinestones here and there ✨ I restyled her hair by giving her the middle part and some new curls, I fixed her crown to the middle (since I never liked it hanging off her head like that) and I swapped her red bows to the front of her shoes instead of the back. Here we are at one of my favorites. When I saw Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog" dressed by designer @launik my eyes widened. I like to think that the designer was inspired by the "Tiana who achieves success", the one who in the cartoon has that white dress and became the manager of her restaurant. Everything we see in my opinion gives her royalty, charm, femininity and confidence: she looks like a Greek deity! 🤩 Let's start from the face, embellished with golden pearling, with this tenacious look that demonstrates how our princess has worked hard to achieve what she has, all framed by this afro hair loose in very fine curls which are only stopped by a metal circle to give it a shape. Going down you can see that the dress is actually very simple if you consider that it is a very common mermaid dress with love on the bottom, but the ocher colored corset has this characteristic of giving an over structure creating an over-miniskirt that flows into a piece of fabric which falls to the bottom of the dress. This entire ocher structure is EMBROIDERED with golden thread and represents all the various symbols that characterize Tiana's passion for cooking, as well as some tribal symbolism which in my opinion accentuates her African-American origins. On her shoulders there are two metal shoulder pads which are linked by a chain and these hold up a long soft white cloak which gives that royalty to the princess. Among the various accessories we have metal earrings and bracelets, even quite simple but which actually embellish the final result. What do you think about it?
