Is this the Scariest ride in Disney World? Well if you ask the child in the car with me, she would say yes. Even after riding it 4 times in a row, that big Dino gave me a fright but if you ask me, I say that it’s one of the best Disney rides. Let's be honest, this post is mostly for me, as I head out on an over-30s only Walt Disney World trip in a couple of days! If you're in a similar situation, or you want to make sure you plan in some fun for the parents on your next family trip, I've got the recommendations for you! After every WDW trip, @theunofficialguides readers and @touringplans users fill out a post-visit survey. As part of that survey, each member of their party rates every attraction in a scale from 1 (highly dissatisfied) to 5 (highly satisfied). I pulled all of the ratings from adults who are over 30 (but under 65) from the past 12 months to figure out what adults are enjoying the most at Disney. You can swipe through to see all of the top-rated attractions this year. What can we learn from the results? 1️⃣ After really high high-scores from teenagers and young adults, adults over 30 calm back down with ratings that are more similar to preschoolers and grade school kids. 2️⃣ Animal Kingdom continues its stronger showing, with 3 out of the top 8 in the most relaxed park at WDW. 3️⃣ Magic Kingdom is back on the map, with one entry on the top 8 - Happily Ever After. So if you were one of the many people messaging me about the tragedy of Fantasmic scoring higher than HEA with the younger groups ... maybe you're over 30 ;) 4️⃣ Hollywood Studios has another 3 of the top 8 for this age group, with a perhaps surprising 8th place for Toy Story Mania (but no Savi's Workshop). Maybe the over 30 group is more competitive ... and more frugal. 5️⃣ If we expand to the top 10, you'd see the addition of Voices of Liberty and Big Thunder Mountain. This group starts rating live performances more highly than the younger ages.

Headed to Walt Disney World this summer on an adults-only trip? Not sure which parks to visit or what to do to enjoy the magic without kids? I've got the recommendations for you! After every WDW trip, @theunofficialguides readers and @touringplans users fill out a post-visit survey. As part of that survey, each member of their party rates every attraction in a scale from 1 (highly dissatisfied) to 5 (highly satisfied). I pulled all of the young adult ratings (aka, people in their 20s) from the past 12 months to figure out what kids these days are enjoying the most. You can swipe through to see all of the top-rated attractions this year. What can we learn from the results? 1️⃣ Like the teenagers, young adult scores are higher on average than grade schoolers and preschoolers at the top end of attractions. Disney adults know what they love and embrace it. 2️⃣ We're continuing to see the rise of Animal Kingdom, which didn't have much representation with the kids, but now has 3 out of the top 4 attractions for young adults. Spoiler alert: this trend will continue with the over-30 and over-65 crowds. 3️⃣ For the first time, Magic Kingdom is locked out of the top 8 in this age group. The highest-rated Magic Kingdom attraction for young adults is Big Thunder Mountain, which comes in 10th place. 4️⃣ Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind scores a very impressive 4.93 out of 5 with young adults, just like it did for teens. It's a doozy for those with motion sickness, but otherwise a very solid attraction. 5️⃣ For those keeping track at home, Fantasmic has now appeared in three out of four top 8s that I've presented for the summer (only the preschoolers left it out), and Happily Ever After has appeared in none. I'm all for the Magic Kingdom fireworks, but Fantasmic is the clear overall winner based on satisfaction scores.
