Evil Comes Prepared is the first expansion I picked up for Villainous, for me Scar is an iconic villain, and the songs from the Lion King are well known and loved; the theatre production is fantastic as well, with beautifully designed costumes. The Emperor’s New Groove is another well loved movie, and I eagerly anticipated adding both Yzma and Scar to my previous villains. Whilst Ratigan was unknown to us, he has quickly become a firm favourite. Vaya juego el que hemos podido probar esta tarde en @zacatrus Valladolid tanto @gio_mujaki , Marco y yo. #disneyvillainous un juego que @diegol2666 tiene en su posesión y tengo pendiente jugar con él (guiño guiño). En resumen, un juego bastante entretenido, picón y con dosis de "puteo". Nosotros, sin lugar a dudas, nos quedamos con la expansión de Cruella de Vil. Los personajes de la caja base no nos llamaron la atención, más bien, eran un pelín simplones y las mecánicas dejaban algo que desear, pero, se ve que la expansión mejoraba mucho, no sólo las mecánicas del juego base sino que eran más atractivas, aunque claro, esa es solo mi opinión, a fin de cuentas, para gustos, colores. Recomendado 100%.

Of all the villains currently released for Villainous, Hades was the villain I most looked forward to playing; as a kid, Hercules was my favourite Disney movie, and as an adult I love mythology. I really wanted to add this iconic villain to my collection. I also really enjoyed watching Princess and the Frog, so Dr Facilier was another villain I wanted to play. Although it’s been a long time since I’ve seen Snow White, and the Evil Queen was the villain I was least interest in playing, she has quickly become the favourite from this set. I wasn’t disappointed by Wicked to the Core, and I enjoy the playstyles of all three villains. For me, the Worst Takes It All is the set you should start with if you’re new to the game. It has some of the more straightforward Villains in – Prince John and Queen of Hearts spring to mind – but also has Villains that provide a challenge for experience players. As The Worst Takes It All contains six Villains to choose from, it also has the most characters that can be played, so is better value for those with larger gaming groups. It’s Board Game Night! Tonight’s chosen board game was the Disney Villainous Star Wars “Scum and Villainy” Expansion Set. We have every Disney Villainous game ever released and this one is definitely one of the more complex games in our collection. Our chosen characters tonight were Seventh Sister (Deanna) and Cad Bane (me). Star Wars ‘The Book of Boba Fet’ series was, of course, playing on the big screen TV next to our board game table, as is our custom game night theming. …And we were doing great, until… two hours in we discovered we had been playing the game incorrectly!! 😳🤪😆 Meaning a win on either side would have been a false win. Don’t you just love that? Hahaha!! So we packed up and will revisit this beautiful game again in the future. That is, after we watch a few play-throughs on YouTube. Now, back to our regularly scheduled Hogwarts Legacy on PS5. I’m sure I can’t mess this one up…. Reseña a "Disney Villainous" 🏰😈 Jugadores: 2-6 Edad: 10+ Tiempo promedio: 45-60 minutos "Disney Villainous" es una franquicia de juegos de cartas asimétricos en los que encarnaremos a los diferentes villanos de las películas Disney, que competirán por lograr sus respectivos objetivos de villano para ganar la partida. El sistema de juego nos ha sorprendido por ser más sencillo de lo que parece una vez se comprenden las acciones que se pueden realizar. En cada turno, el jugador moverá su peón a una ubicación del reino y podrá realizar de forma opcional y en cualquier orden, todas y cada una de las acciones (que van desde obtener poder hasta usar el mazo de destino de otro jugador para complicar sus planes) de dicho lugar. Tras ello, robará cartas hasta volver a tener cuatro y será el turno del siguiente jugador. Luego, cada villano es único, y tendrá sus mazos (el de robo y el de destino), su peón y su "reino" totalmente diferentes al resto, así como su objetivo de villano, que no coincidirá con el de otro personaje. Lo que en muchas ocasiones, nos transmite una mayor inmersión si se conoce la película de cada uno, al tener casa personaje. Esto además, le da una gran personalidad al juego y lo hace bastante atractivo a aquellos que conozcan y les guste el universo Disney. A nosotros, nos está pareciendo muy curioso, y un juego que rebosa nostalgia en todos sus costados. Sin duda, una gran adquisición si te gustan las películas de Disney o tienes familiares que las adoren. También cabe aclarar que este juego posee varias expansiones autojugables, y cada caja, con su combinación propia de villanos, por lo que hay una gran variedad donde elegir y tener acceso a tu villano Disney favorito. Eso sí, un punto en contra, es que aparte de las cartas y los peones (que están impresionantes ambos), la calidad del resto de componentes no nos ha satisfecho del todo. Disney Villainous: The Worst Takes it All 4/10 Whack-a-mole or Munchkin style gameplay is likely one of my least favorite forms of direct player interaction. There's usually little you can do, but obfuscate how well you're doing in order to sneak a win in. The lack of counter play or defense means the balance of power swings between competing leaders until all others run out of ammunition. The IP, art, and card effects are paired well to give players a thematic experience for this hand management and action selection game. The system also got the Marvel and Star Wars treatment. Maleficent could try to sneak in two curses in a turn, but it's relatively easy to remove one or more just as quickly. #disneyvillainous #disneyvillainoustheworsttakesitall
It's Wednesday, so this means it's #VillainousWednesday 😈 In this series I'll share my thoughts on one villain from Disney Villainous per week! Let's continue with the yellow 🟡 "expansion" Despicable Plots 💀💀THE HORNED KING💀💀 🏁 Objective 🏁 The Horned King (HK) wants to rule the land and therefore he needs Cauldron Born soldiers at each location in his realm. 🌟 What's special? 🌟 HK has a special Cauldron card which is placed outside his board to determine if he has the power of the cauldron or not. When he has the power, he can use it to turn Ancient Soldiers into Cauldron Born. Cauldron Born can't be played otherwise. 🃏 Deck & Board🃏 HK's board is balanced to others, but includes disadvantages. Several useful actions are in the upper row and can be covered by heroes (like 3 power, vanquish, move) and it doesn't have an activate action on its own. This is where his deck comes in handy. It has tons of allies to defeat heroes and some of them are of course Cauldron Born, who survive a Vanquish action. The Ancient Soldiers items introduce the Activate action needed to get the power of the cauldron and they're needed to be sacrificed to get Cauldron Born. Additionally he has some effects to get power, get the power of the cauldron, mess with heroes, etc. All in all it's a very focused and handy deck. 🌩️ Fate 🌩️ HK's fate deck is a nasty bunch of heroes. Most of them make him lose cards from his hand (the precious soldiers and cauldron born!), move allies and of course block actions. As defeating heroes is a necessity once they're there, he has to get at least a few allies (Cauldron Born at best) out on the battlefield. 🤔 Final Thoughts 🤔 Though his gameplay is quite straightforward, it needs a lot of thinking. When and where to play Soldiers. When to transmute them into Cauldron Born. How fast to go through your deck. How many heroes do you allow to be present. When to focus on power, when on offensive. But all these little gears work well together, therefore the Horned King is actually one of my favourites. What are your experiences with The Horned King or do you prefer someone else?

We channeled our inner villains tonight with a game of Villainous. The four of us played Captain Hook, Ursela, Queen of Hearts and Maleficent. I was playing as Captain Hook and felt like I was off to a promising start since I drew the Neverland Map in my starting hand. I quickly unlocked the secret hideout at Hangman’s Tree and started my search for Peter Pan. I drew the attention of little Michael Darling who I vanquished easily but then Tinkerbell quickly took his place. Meanwhile, I kept and eye on the other villains and their schemes. Ursela had already found her crown but didn’t seem to be making any additional headway. On the other hand, the Queen of Hearts had already slid two Card Guards into place. Worse yet, almost before I could blink, Maleficent had 3 curses in her realm. I continued pushing through my deck but suddenly had to divert efforts when Maleficent cast her 4th curse into the land. It took all three of us casting Fate but we managed to counter one of her curses. Unfortunately, amid that chaos, Ursela managed to find King Triton and was sliding into position to grab his Trident. All of my hopes were dashed again when Maleficent managed to not only cast another curse but did so at a time when I was unable to retaliate and turn the fates against her. The other villains did their best, er...worst, but in the end Maleficent came out victorious. Have you played Villainous? Tout d'abord, je dois dire que je suis absolument trop contente de voir Oogie Boogie arriver cette année dans une extension, même s'il s'agit cette fois-ci d'une réelle extension, puisqu'il n'y aura qu'un seul personnage dans la boîte. De plus, une septième extension/standalone est déjà annoncée en anglais pour 2024 (elle devrait donc arriver en 2025 en France 🤷♀️) : Sugar&Spite. Seulement deux personnages seraient mis en avant : Sa Sucrerie (Le Monde de Ralph) et Shere Khan (Le Livre de la jungle). 🟠 VILLAINOUS : PLUS GRANDS, PLUS MECHANTS 🟠 Ce nouveau standalone est particulier : pour la première fois, il met en avant des personnages Pixar ! Quelle joie de voir Lotso arriver et - ne renions pas les classiques - Madame Mim. 😁 🔥 Syndrome : il devra éliminer l'Omnidroïde v.10 et n'avoir aucun héros dans son royaume. Pour cela, il faudra déjà détruire les Omnidroides VX 8 et 9 avant de pouvoir placer le V.10, puisqu'il ne peut y avoir qu'un droïde à la fois dans le royaume. S'en viendra ensuite un bal entre l'Omnidroïde v.10, la télécommande et les héros afin de pouvoir atteindre le but ultime. 🧙♀️ Madame Mim : elle devra éliminer toutes les métamorphoses de Merlin. Lors de la mise en place, il faudra déjà séparer les cartes fatalité et métamorphoses de Merlin en deux pioches distinctes. Puis, dès qu'une métamorphose est éliminée, une nouvelle est replacée. Madame Mim ne peut compter que sur elle-même, il n'y aucun allié dans sa pioche méchant. En revanche, elle possède des cartes métamorphoses pour cela. 🧸 Lotso : il devra réunir 4 héros de force 0 et Buzz l'éclair dans la salle des chenilles. Lors de la mise en place, la tuile Buzz l'Eclair est placé dans la partie supérieure du plateau, dans la salle des chenilles, sur sa face gardien. Pour arriver à ses fins, Lotso devra réduire la force des héros en utilisant l'action éliminer un héros. Au lieu de défausser ceux-là, ils recevront un jeton. Ensuite il devront être déplacés sur la salle des chenilles. 🟡 VILLAINOUS : MONSTRUEUSEMENT MALSAINS 🟡 Parmi les trois nouveaux méchants de ce standalone, j'attendais Gaston depuis un moment. Et je suis contente de voir le Seigneur des Ténèbres qui est un personnages mineur parmi les vilains Disney. 💪 Gaston : il devra retirer 8 jetons obstacle de son royaume. Lors de la mise en place, il faudra disposer des jetons obstacle sur les emplacements prévus (2 par lieu). Les cartes méchant lui permettent donc de les retirer mais les cartes fatalité vont en replacer. Sans compter Belle qui, tant qu'elle est présente dans le Royaume, empêche de retirer le moindre jeton. 👗 Madame de Trémaine : elle devra réunir une de ses filles en robe de bal et le Prince sur la salle de bal, puis faire sonner les cloches du mariage. Il faudra alors jouer Javotte et/ou Anastasie dans le royaume, dans leurs habits quotidiens. Une fois defaussées, elles pourront alors être remplacées par leurs versions en robe de bal. Seuls les deux sœurs, Cendrillon et le Prince ne peuvent être joués/déplacés sur la salle de bal. Madame de Trémaine a une particularité : son royaume ne possède pas d'action éliminer un héros, il faudra alors compter sur les cartes méchant. De plus, si la carte de la chaussure de verre se trouve dans le royaume, il ne sera pas possible de gagner la partie même si toutes les conditions sont réunies et que les cloches du mariage sonnent ! 👹 Seigneur des Ténèbres : il devra avoir au moins une carte "soldats ressuscités" sur chaque lieu de son royaume. Pour cela, il faudra dans un premier temps récupérer la tuile relique "chaudron magique" dans son royaume. Ensuite, il devra activer la capacité du chaudron, en le retournant sur sa face "chaudron réveillé" afin de pouvoir; soit transformer des squelettes de soldats en soldats ressuscités (à raison d'un échange par tour), soit en placer directement des cartes soldats ressuscités depuis sa main.
