Woke up to “Severe Weather Alert” and took a walk outside, captivated by the clouds. Three walks today: morning, afternoon and the tail end of sunset. Those clouds were still there as we await- “...MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WILL LEAD TO MODERATE AND POTENTIALLY RAPID RISES ALONG AREA STREAMS AND CREEKS.” And it rose to 67 degreesF this afternoon. Als ik deze momentjes, die er ook tijdens een kraamreportage zijn niet zou vastleggen? 👇🏼 Grote broer die mij de mooiste kamer van het huis laat zien, het leukste speelgoed én ook nog wat lekkers voor me klaarmaakt 🤪 Over lekkers gesproken; dat wordt er dit weekend veel gegeten 🙈 Mario is een weekend weg dus de meiden en ik maken er hier thuis ook een feestje van! 🥳 Gisteren begon met Mc Donalds en Sushi, keken we tot laat film (natuurlijk met popcorn) én kwamen de meiden bij mij logeren. Feestje 1.0 🪩 Vandaag had Manoa haar eerste turnles en kreeg Siënna na 5 weken proef draaien in de selectie bericht dat ze nu officieel is toegelaten! Reden voor feestje 2.0 en de meiden mochten bepalen. Het werd een taartje én nog een nachtje logeren 🤭 Ik zeg slaap lekker 🤪

Saturday 26th August: On this grey, rainy day, the young one turned twelve. Another year of learning and growing, facing challenges, celebrating great successes and negotiating our relationship has passed. My life changed profoundly when I became a mother, it continues to change with each passing year and the love I feel intensifies as my daughter matures. Sharing this journey of life is the greatest of blessings - not without challenges, though faith and a little hindsight vouchsafe that they are all worth the discomfort. It can be tempting to imagine who she will be, how she will make her way in the world when she is older, but I do not let those thoughts rob me of joy in the knowledge of who she is today - a forthright character with a great intellect and an earnest heart, more beautiful every time I look at her and the most cherished young one, worthy of a life filled with wonder and contentment. This morning she enjoyed her riding lesson.
