Ten Years After - Cricklewood Green Originally released in 1970, it is their fourth album. Pressing shown is a 1980s reissue. Honestly, it wasn't until I'd love to change the world hit the radio waves when I started to hear about them. By then, I was heavy into hard rock and prog rock. These guys are great, what a oversight on my part. Thankfully, I found the blues and more so blues rock. Even though it was and always has been an integral part of rock music. Since then, I have always felt Alvin Lee has been an underrated musician, vocalist, and songwriter. As well Ten Years After is one of those (almost forgotten true rock bands). Thine is a progressive doomy rock band featuring a few well-known musicians. At this moment in time, my mate Dan Mullins (@storm_demon ) drummer of @mydyingbride_official (stay tuned, more from them tomorrow) is probably the most notable with Paul "Host" Groundwell The Deathtrip also worth mentioning. Tragically, the vocalist Alan Gaunt passed away in 2019. This means that the chances of Thine ever following this record up are virtually nil. The album is a beautifully put-together set of tracks. If you're a fan of Katatonia, Anathema, Green Carnation, or the lighter pastoral proggy sounds of Opeth, I can't see you not liking this. It was a wonderful record that went under the radar for far too many. And today marks its 10th anniversary. Perfect for a re-listen and perfect for a Sunday evening, too. Mew - Frengers & Live Show There is so much I can say about this band and how much they mean to me. I flew all the way to Copenhagen, Denmark to see them play with a live orchestra behind them which was a once in a lifetime experience (even though I saw the show two nights in a row haha).
