- - 2024 SEASON PREVIEW - F4 JAPAN - This weekend, the Japanese F4 will start its new season with the new generation of Formula 4 cars with halo’s at the Fuji Speedway in the Super GT support program. - TEAMS & DRIVERS 🏎👥 - 22 drivers are on the entry list for the first round of the main championship. A further 16 will take part in the Independent Cup. Honda juniors Yuto Nomura and Ryota Horachi will be competing with B-Max Racing, while rival Toyota will be fielding four juniors with its TGR-DC Racing School team. In addition to Yuki Sano and Kazuhisa Urabe, this also includes Tokiya Suzuki and Kiyoshi Umegaki. Kento Omiya and Rintaro Sato will line up for the PONOS Racing team, while Tosei Moriyama will tackle the new season with HELM Motorsports. Chinese driver Lin Chenghua is the only non-Japanese driver on the grid and will line up with Buzz Racing. The teams from OTG Motor Sports, Zap Speed, Skill Speed, Bionic Jack Racing and more are also back on the grid. 🇬🇧 BRITISH F4 - Race 1 winner: DEAGEN FAIRCLOUGH 🇬🇧 Race 2 winner: MIKA ABRAHAMS 🇿🇦 - On the Donington Park national layout, Rodin dominated qualifying as James Higgins took pole for Race 1 and Alex Ninovic claimed pole for Race 3 👀 - In Race 1, Deagen Fairclough stormed from P3 on the grid to lead at the start ahead of Higgins whilst Reza Seewooruthun moved into P3 ahead of Ninovic❗️ - Fairclough proceeded to pull away, having a 1.487 second lead at the end of Lap 1, whilst Ninovic re-passed Seewooruthun for P3. Mercedes junior Yuanpu Cui charged forward from P9 on the grid ➡️ - As Fairclough controlled things, Ninovic attempted to steal P2 from Higgins but the Aussie couldn't make the move. Late on, Cui took P4 from Seewooruthun 🎯 - A late red flag saw the race end a lap early, with Fairclough taking victory by 5.453 seconds ahead of Higgins, Ninovic, Cui and Seewooruthun 💯 - Alpine junior Abbi Pulling was the highest-placed female driver, taking P7 on her return to British F4. Race 2 was delayed due to heavy rain 🌧 - When Race 2 began, Alex Berg immediately passed front row starters Joel Bergström and Cui to take the lead. Bergström promptly fell back down the order 🔄 - On Lap 2, Martin Molnar ended up off the road and the Safety Car was deployed. At the restart, Berg got away well ahead of team-mate Mika Abrahams ✅️ - Abrahams stayed close behind Berg as they pulled away from the pack. Behind them, Fairclough and Jack Sherwood had a fiery battle over P3 💪 - Cui was also in the fight for P3 until he went off and dropped to P9. Fairclough took P3 and then closed in on the leaders 🔥 - On the final lap, Berg was handed a 5-second penalty for abusing track limits. Kristiansen retired from the race on Lap 3 ❌️ - As Jakobsen controlled the race, 2021 series champion and F5 runner Mads Hoe fought his way forward from P5 on the grid and eventually moved up to P2 ⬆️ - Jakobsen went on to take victory by 2.668 seconds ahead of Hoe, Magnus Pedersen, Sebastian Bach (not the former Skid Row frontman) and Lærke Rønn Sørensen 💯 - Sebastian Schou was on reverse-grid pole for Race 2, but the order changed rapidly on Lap 1 as Sørensen moved forward from P4 to lead ahead of Hoe, who had risen from P8 ⬆️ - A few laps later, Jakobsen took P3 from Pedersen. Wang got a poor start and was at the bottom end of the top 10 at the end of Lap 1, with Jia Zhanbin taking the lead ahead of Jing Zefeng❗️ - Zefeng took the lead on Lap 2 as Jiang, Ruiqi Liu, Kaishun Liu and Sawer battled behind the leaders. - - 2024 SEASON PREVIEW - F4 CEZ @f4cezchampionship - The second season of the F4 CEZ Championship kicks off this weekend at the Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary. - TEAMS & DRIVERS 🏎👥 - 13 drivers from seven different teams are taking part in the season opener at Balaton Park. For the second round at the Red Bull Ring, PHM Racing will be joined by another team with five drivers. Jenzer Motorsport will line up with defending champion Ethan Ischer, Oscar Wurz, Andrija Kostić, Shimo Zhang and Maxmilian Karhan for the first round. Ischer will only compete in the first two rounds and won’t be able to score points due to him being last year’s champion. Miroslav Mikeš changed teams compared to last year and will now compete with JMT Racing. The Slovenian AS Motorsport team will be racing with Michalina Sabaj in Balaton. In qualifying, Rafaela Ferreira claimed both available pole positions 🎯 - In Race 1, Cho's replacement Filippo Fiorentino went from P3 to lead by passing Matheus Comparatto and Ferreira at the start ⬆️ - Lucca Zucchini took P3 from Comparatto later on, whilst Ferreira chased down leader Fiorentino. The debutant, Fiorentino, held on to take victory by just 0.308 seconds 💪 - Ferreira claimed P2 and, as a result, became the first female driver ever to lead the F4 Brasil standings. Zucchini, Comparatto and Ethan Nobels completed the top 5 ✅️ - Ciro Sobral was on reverse-grid pole for Race 2, but instantly lost the lead to Gino Trappa whilst Comparatto moved into P3 behind the lead duo 🔄 - Ferreira tangled with Zucchini and Nobels seperately and ended up down in P8 after being penalised for both incidents. Albert Cheung joins Chinese Formula 4 The 2024 Shell Helix FIA F4 Chinese Championship (@fia_f4_china) has kicked off at Shanghai today (19th). Albert Cheung, who is a Macau racer, entered and finished two free practice sessions today. Albert is set to compete with his team Champ Pro Racing (@champ_motorsport) on the Master class.
