THROWBACK THURSDAY: Let’s lighten the mood and listen to this… A couple of weeks ago, I was minding my own business walking home from town when I heard someone shouting behind me. Depressingly, I always assume someone is being homophobic to me because invariably they are so my AirPods stayed firmly in my large lugholes. Then, a pen hit my head so I did turn round and realised it was one of mine and smorgster0’s Daughters, @earthtolauur. As she’s preggers plays pop, she just said:, “Don’t make a pregnant woman run!”, which made me laugh, but then she always does. As she was at work when she saw me walk by, we only had 10 minutes. We still managed to cram a lot in. My favourite bit of the conversation was when she called someone who hurt me recently a c**t. “You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it.” Quite. She’s loyal to her Dads. All The Kidz are. After she got back to work, a few of her staff - yes, she has staff; Our Kidz have done good - asked why she was running after “the small silver man”. This made me howl because I’m no bigger than a bar stool and was wearing a silver lamé jacket at the time, so they weren’t wrong. So, Daughter, this pic is especially for you. Wir stellen bei unserer Politik den Kapitalismus in direkten Zusammenhang mit Ausbeutung und Unterdrückung. Wir wollen in unserer Gruppe Anhänger*innen verschiedener antikapitalistischer Strömungen einbinden und verschiedene Perspektiven in unseren politischen Kampf integrieren. Unser Ziel ist es, die Vielfalt der aktiven queeren Szene abzubilden. Uns ist es wichtig, dass sich keine*r bei uns ausgeschlossen fühlt. Als strömungsübergreifende Orga wollen wir eine Umgebung schaffen, in der alle gehört werden. Queer Allies, die unsere Kämpfe unterstützen wollen, sind bei uns herzlich willkommen mitzuwirken. Unser Ziel ist die Wiederbelebung einer aktiven queeren Protestbewegung auf der Straße. Trotz der relativen Freiheit, die queere Menschen in Deutschland aktuell genießen, sind wir als queere Befreiungsbewegung noch lange nicht am Ziel einer bunten und solidarischen Gesellschaft angekommen. Wir sehen uns stattdessen einer Realität gegenüber, in der (nicht nur) unsere Rechte vermehrt infrage gestellt werden: Durch den politischen Rechtsruck werden queer- und menschenfeindliche Ansichten zunehmend salonfähig. Faschistische Parteien wie die AfD befeuern diese Entwicklungen aktuell nur rhetorisch, aber bauen ihren Einfluss im Staat und der Gesellschaft schrittweise weiter aus. An opinion I did not ask for… here is what I have received from my older brother following my post with me and my wife’s Merry Christmas wishes. I will just leave this here because it is not a shame to me but to him. I will never be ashamed for the person I am and I don’t have to. People around me, and everyone I met through the almost 2 decades since I left from home know me and love me for who I am, but not only them. Those are my people because they see my strong values, my kindess, my hard work, my struggles and victories, my perseverance, my strength, who I truly am, basically everything, right next to the fact that I am married to a woman - which doesn’t change a thing about me nor my worth. I got everything I need, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the life I made for myself by myself. This is my life, I don’t need approval from anyone. I will never wear a mask and act fake. THROWBACK THURSDAY: As this week has turned into a biththday bash/celebration of life, here’s me on my 18th birthday looking older than I do now. My hair had dramatically fallen out at 15 because of violence and had grown back like this. Thank The Good Gay Lord that it fell out again. I wanted to share this image full of kind words I saw on a post on LinkedIn, and send lots of love, kindness, inclusion, healing, strength, compassion, and peace into the world. ❤️ Maybe the person at your favorite coffee shop or restaurant who takes your order is grieving or going through a bad break up, for example. And after you pay for your order you smile and say “I hope you have a beautiful day. You deserve it!” without knowing what they may be going through. And maybe that was what they really needed to hear at that moment. Maybe after you leave the coffee shop/restaurant you’re on the phone with customer service and they ask “how are you today?” And maybe you had a really stressful morning at work and hearing someone care about how you’re doing really touched you. Maybe one of your favorite celebrities is really struggling with their mental health in some way, but you might not know that ‘cause they always seem so happy in the photos they post on social media. And maybe as they’re scrolling through their comments in their last post they see one that says “I am going through a really tough time right now and reading the words of encouragement in your post the other day made me feel a little better. I just wanted to take the time to thank you and say that you matter.” And maybe that comment was something the celebrity also needed to hear at that moment. We should NEVER use our words or actions to hurt someone or make them feel that they don’t matter. We should ALWAYS be operating from a place of love, kindness, peace, inclusion, and compassion.
