I had a quick glance through the Mobility magazine that came through the post this week, and was really pleased to see a full page about Primark launching an adaptive underwear range! So great to see an affordable , inclusive range hitting the high street. Disabled customers had input into the design and the items will be available on sizes 2xs to 2xl in all stores in the UK. Alors c'est sûr que vu que je reprends le sport après une grosse blessure, je n'ai pas couru aussi vite et bien que je le voulais mais j'ai réussi à terminer les 5 km en 37 minutes sans prendre de risque inutile et pour moi c'est déjà une très grande victoire. Merci aux organisateurs et à Insieme Vaud pour cette belle journée 🏃♂️ 🇬🇧 I ran with @insiemevaud at @20kmlausanne in the 5 km race. It was great ! So it's certain that since I'm returning to sport after a major injury, I didn't run as fast and well as I wanted but I managed to finish the 5 km in 37 minutes without taking any unnecessary risks and for me it is already a very big victory. A joyous LSO Create concert tonight at St Luke’s where disabled, non-disabled and/or neurodiverse adults performed musical pieces composed, improvised and created together with LSO (London Symphony Orchestra) musicians and workshop leaders. ‘Percussion Supersonic’ also had us tapping feet, clapping, feeling the beat; a musical collaboration between three secondary schools from Bexley Music Education Hub. At same time as listening/watching these wonderful performances, we were invited to make art alongside, each of our pieces going towards creating a collaborative paper mural. I loved responding to music through the art-making. What a great idea. Really shows how the whole is greater than the sun of its parts… the power of community music and arts. Music and art-making together… a wonderful multi-sensory, integrative arts experience. Not my usual running post. Today my sister in law tried to take my disabled nephew out for the day on a train. 3 attempts later and she still hadn’t gone anywhere because @northernrailway refused her due to the trains being busy. They did however let able bodied people go on these trains because there was room for them. Today, our MP @grahamemorris.easington advised this was not a one-off incident. He is addressing this and we’re very grateful for the support but the reality is, he shouldn’t have to. My nephew should be able to have a family day out without becoming distressed because our transport links in Seaham haven’t got capacity to actually take on people. I’m appalled. I’m disgusted.
