🛑 Journalists around the world are threatened, persecuted and even victims of murder and terror. They are attacked personally and with their families (digitally and physically), imprisoned or forced into exile. ✍️ In retrospect to this week’s World Press Freedom Day, we draw your attention to our "Human Rights Defenders" Publication, portraying media professionals who often accept personal threats to expose injustice and thus become human rights defenders in their home countries. There journalists from all over the world report on their work and their courageous fight against governments that are hostile to freedom. 💪 Our freedom is only as secure as we ourselves are prepared to stand up for it. Freedom of the press and freedom of expression was, is and remains a clear indicator of how free the people in a country really are. 🌟 We'd like to introduce to you our current intern: Lisa Beier! She joined our office in Sofia in March and will contribute to the team of FNF East and Southeast Europe until the end of July. 🎓 She holds a scholarship from the FNF and, after previously taking part in many of the foundation's seminars in Germany, she now wants to get involved in the work of the foundation herself through this internship. Apart from that, Lisa studies Foreign Trade / International Management in Hamburg. 🗺️ For her, this experience abroad is also a kind of journey to her own cultural roots, as she surprisingly found out through a DNA test that 36% of Lisa's origins are in Eastern Europe and 34% in the Balkans. 🙌 We are pleased that she continues to enjoy gaining insights into the FNF's work abroad and are happy to have her as part of our team! День 1 The Alliance Of Her 2024 Почну відразу з дуже цікавого та, частково, містично-магічного 😁 На початку сесії багато говорили про те, як з 2016 року створення цієї програми її випускниці ставали мінстерками, депутатками парламентів і тд. Причому вони досягали тих посад, про які мріяли під час навчання саме тут. Нас також запитали про мрії. Нас четверо з України та серед нас виявились такі жінки: 1) Президентка України 2) Прем’єр-міністерка України 3) депутатка Європарламенту 4) політикиня, яка поєднує материнство/виховання дітей та роботу в балансі А ну вгадайте, яку посаду озвучила я?😉 Спікери з Естонії. Аніка Аррас, яка допомогла виграти вибори 3 рази поспіль для однієї з партій Естонії та Тааві Лінамае, який був правою рукою першої Президентки-жінки в Естонії. Говорили про те, що дозволило Естонії performed well після 1991, челенджі політичних кампаній, мінусові тенденції в суспільствах, популізм (куди ж без нього) P.S. ну і фото, як підготовка до промо. Саме тут збираються ліберальні жінки-політикині The Alliance Of Her, аби підсилити себе як за рахунок менторства досвідчених спікерів (про них писатиму ще), так і мережування, обміну досвідом та (я дуже хочу) спільних ініціатив та проєктів.
