October 7th was such an unimaginable tragedy. So many families lost, lives torn apart, friends taken from us. Five months since this all started and it’s not any easier to wrap my head around the finality of it all. When I think about it sometimes, it feels so hopeless, like there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m so afraid that the world will just move on like nothing happened. But when I see pictures like these, our heroes protecting our northern border, proudly displaying the symbol of David. A symbol of beauty, a symbol of love, a symbol of life. I know exactly what David would want me to do. He wouldn’t want me to be afraid. He would want me to try to do my little part to make the world a better place. Finally got the privilege to go help out at the incredible effort @soldiers.save.lives warehouse, partnering with #israelbridge to support displaced families with basic needs. The response of generousity from@ #jewishcompanies like #haddadbrands in NJ and NY is beautifully overwhelming. 💓@birthrightisrael was there to volunteer on the morning, G-d bless them, but in the afternoon, it was only 12 precious volunteers to sort through the urgent supplies of kid’s clothes! (Maya, Shuli, Yoni, Ben, Guy, Brian, and those I didn’t get to meet yet thank you so much for coming out (most of you on the daily!) @bucky.apisdorf and all the incredibly bright lights @soldiers.save.lives who inspire with their advocacy and just to stand up and #dosomething for #amisraelchai and of course #fordavid

This may seem like just an empty room…but it is so much more than that to me. It has been my studio — my content creating home away from home for the past 3 years and change. When I had nowhere to go to make my videos for my business, my great friend, Pastor David Morrow (Faith Church ⛪️) invited me to use this space — not as a visitor, or even a guest. David invited me to make it my home. I recorded over 200 videos in this room over the past 3 years for various projects — mostly for my business. Time to close this chapter on this studio. Where do I start with this one... Soldiers save live, an organization started in memory of my fellow beit shemesher and friend David Newman. Soldiers save lives has raised over 22 million dollars towards anything the IDF or anyone affected by the war need, and they are not stopping anytime soon. Everyone is doing something non-stop, around the clock, all day, and every day, they are working to make sure that the soldiers that are protecting us have everything they need to do their job. David was a football player on the beit shemesh and kfirim team. David was a happy man who always kept a smile on his face. David was a good friend to everyone, and he always succeeded in making people happy even after he was killed. I am so impressed by the fact that David's friends took the worst thing that has ever happened to them and turned it into such an incredible thing for all of israel. @soldiers.save.lives is my go-to Israel charity. When I met @moshe_shear and @bucky.apisdorf I instantly connected with them and their passion. I wanted to do something. From delivering drones to the IDF in the South of Israel, to a beautiful gala in New York City. My friends are INCREDIBLE. I’m so grateful to have been a part of this Let’s Do Something movement, in memory of David Newman, who was murdered by Hamas at the Nova Music Festival on October 7th. Ένας καλός μας φίλος και υποστηρικτής της εγχώριας heavy/rock σκηνής χρειάζεται την βοήθεια μας για ένα πολύ σοβαρό θέμα υγείας που αντιμετωπίζει. I was walking into the Jerusalem central bus station on Friday afternoon when this security guard approached me with a huge smile on his face, dapped me up and gave me a hug. I didn’t recognize him so after asking who he was, he began to tell me that he has been following Soldiers Save Lives on IG for awhile and loves what we’re doing. He went on to say that he is a soldier in an artillery unit fighting in Gaza. Earlier this week, he was sitting with his fellow soldiers on base, showing them our page and explaining in Hebrew what we have accomplished. Literally as he was showing them our page, they got called up for a very intense mission. He said the energy going in to that mission was unlike any other. The morale him and his friends carried after seeing the support they are getting from groups like ours was exactly what they needed for this mission, and the mission was a huge success. I thanked him for sharing, and continued on my way with tears in my eyes. We may not be on the front lines, but our impact is there in ways we don’t even realize. Thank you to the thousands of volunteers, donors, friends and family who have contributed in the past 3 months to our mission. We are saving lives every day and the only way we are able to do so is when we all work together. We have a photo shoot next week with the Elton John AIDS Foundation (so they can highlight the funds they’re giving SAAF and Corazon). The photographer asked I had a cowboy hat and cowboy boots to wear because San Antonio is all about the cowboy look right? I don’t. And while I think I probably should have them for dress up, it’d be kinda disingenuous for me to wear as the “real” me. But I did get these awesome painted boots and will wear my San Antonio Is Love shirt (aka #ForDavid) which feels right for Elton in San Antonio 🩵🩷🧡💛💚💜🏳️🌈
