$5/hour drop-in or purchase open clay studio cards ($45 for 10 hours, $90 for 20 hours) Open Studio is first come first served. Kris Saxton and/or Dina Bredahl will be hosting a self-directed open clay studio where Cottonwood pottery students can build on their skills learned in class. This is also a great environment where more experienced potters can build on their previous knowledge and skills. Bring your own tools and use our facilities. Several types of clay can be purchased at Cottonwood through Kris and Dina. All ages are welcome, although we do ask for an adult to accompany children under 16 years old to help facilitate in their learning experience. Kiln firing is charged at $0.06 (6 cents) per cubic inch. Only clay purchased from Cottonwood can be fired in our kilns. Clay is to be used on-site only and is available for purchase during Open Studio hours. NEW! RAKU FIRING Every month during select Pottery Open Studio sessions, Kris will have the raku equipment out and available for students to use. You must take the Intro to Raku class, as well as have bisque fired pots ready to glaze. In order to accommodate everyone, pre-registering with Kris Saxton is required. The cost per kiln load is $40.00. I picked up some teeny succulents today to use in my mini planters from @frontrangeclay. The planters are so cute and SO TINY. One day, @micaplants sent me a post by @frontrangeclay and said “look”...I did indeed look 👀...and then I bought 💸...not one but three pots 🙈...they’re beautiful, unglazed, and have drainage holes so I couldn’t resist!
