Alfonso is a dear elderly man living in the town next to ours. My husband met him when Alfonso came by his shop to have some work done to his car. Over time Alfonso has became a friend and he shares what he has, which is usually lunch for my husband and seeds and plant cutting for me. We started sharing our own garden vegetables and eggs with him. 2 years ago he gave me these poppy seeds. The first year I got a few to bloom but I just didn’t have them in the right environment so I took those dried pods and saved the seeds from them for the this season. This is what happened! They are so gorgeous 🌸 Ive never seen poppies like this before! Daffodils ( end of March 2024 and in April 2024) are in bloom, and the rabbits ate my brand new tall purple gorgeous purple tulips. I'm happy to see the daffodils growing so nicely by the house but thinking about moving them to the rose garden since they are perenials that spread and are spring flowers. I want, which I'm trying to spread across the small empty spaces in between the rose bushes to give it color while the roses start to bud Also, tulips of different varieties, but the bunnies got all 6 new purple ones. It is one of their favorite flowers. Of course, go figure. I will have to wait till next year r to try again. Also, when I move the daffodils, which the bunnies like as well, I will move them when they are done for the season, so they can come back next year and also be established. You have to watch closer next year they dont touch them once in tje rose garden because they don't bother them by the house. Could be cause if my dog, and their next to the house where he can reach...interesting.. In the pot in images 3-8 ( March 2024)【, those are hens and chicks that have spread and are very big and still spreading. When I bought them, the tag said they needed to be brought in during the cold/ winter and could be put back out after the last frost in spring. I planted them with ground covers ( you can see in last year pictures the ground covering got tall and their purple), which spread and got tall, and at first suffocated the hens and chick's. As you see, in March 2024,in the photos are not the case. The hens and chicks left all year in cold, frost, and winter when meant to be brought in... instead growing big and having small ones growing off spreading under the grown cover which is eventually meant to droop over and their still living just need weed off the dead, you can see the green of the ground cover. In the images, it's hard to see there are little hens and chlicks growing under the green lush part and some of the brown, little hens and chicks they are just spreading around the pot.
