Keep on smiling, through it all 😉😊 We're getting somewhere finally. MRI of the spine showed straightening, not good. As well as a bulging and herniated disc in the area of my C5-C7. That explains my pain all on the right side of my body. Now, to see more specialists to see what can be done. Kind of happy in a way. I've been saying I had whiplash from a landing on a return flight in early February, but doc didn't seem to believe me. After viewing my MRI with me, in her own way, she apologized. We still haven't solved the pain in my shoulder/arm, but it's next. Life has a way of throwing curve balls at me when everything is going well. Just need to take it day by day, keep smiling, and move forward. It does help to have meds on this journey though, LOL 😆 #InTimeAllWillBeOk #HipCheck #SpineCheck #ShoulderNext

*Radiograph update* Today Finnegan had his hips checked. The results are very good. His hips are in great shape, and I can now put any unjustified worry aside. I've raised Finnegan to be confident, comfortable and at ease in all environments we frequent. He often lays splooting (belly lays with hind legs stretched behind) MUCH more often than any dog I've owed (many dogs..) or any I've viewed online or in person. Besides that, I had no concerns. (So maybe a little justified) Finnegan was such a good boy for his xrays. He didn't need sedation, and the vets had him back to me in minutes. He calmly waited in down stay while my vet showed me his xrays. After briefly going over them, my vet quickly changed the topic to his wonderful behavior and asked about the training I do. Dogs in recovery were rather vocal and the energy there was enough to stress the most obedient animal but he kept his composure, the sweet boy. Good work Finnegan ❤️🐾 I'd like to also add here... had I not seen Finnegan splooting all over the place (lol) I'd probably not have booked him for this at all. Unless there is a reason to worry, there isn't a worry at all. Finnegan is relaxed and likes to cool down on his belly, his behavior is a compliment. Now finally, I can embrace it. It's not mandatory to have your SD's hips checked esp if your dog isn't exhibiting lameness, is on gait, not jumping or skipping steps, running with ease and over all looks correct. A.N.D. Techniques 3: Aloof Food. Here we see Blocker One 'feeding' the Jammer into Blocker Two's path, as Blocker Two breezes by to deliver the (aloof) knockdown with her nose in the air. Many of the random adjective-noun combos are amusing and/or suggest a scene; some of them (like this one) are kind of a reach :P I think the hardest part is when it gives the VAGUEST noun, like "Food" or "Dinner" -- at least give me a KIND of food, then I have something to work with! But I've only had to 're-roll' random words a few times over the dozen+ that I've worked on. Hip Check by @boisebrewing I was in Boise for only about 24 hours and was so sad I didn’t get to go to any breweries. Luckily the airport had some local beer I was able to take home! Plus it’s roller derby themed? Yes please! Let’s get into it! If you like hops, this is a great beer for you. Hops and malt aroma with a little floral undertone. Very bold, hoppy flavor. This IPA is a lot stronger than I expected, but it is SO good. More of the hoppy bitterness on the aftertaste. New Drawing Style Ideas 2: A Figure of Speech. (Alternately, "the BattleToads effect", or I guess "Body Horror" works too :O I went through so many different names trying to title this silly 'Literal Metaphor' idea; in the end I liked the double entendre of "figure" = "body". But I keep feeling like there's a better pun to be made; let me know if you think of one!) New Drawing Style Ideas 1: Noodly. I want to draw derby, but I haven't thought of new jokes yet, and don't want to go back to random word prompts; so I'm just doing Stock Derby Action pictures, but trying to break out of my standard drawing style with each one(?). If that sounds really vague, it turns out it is :O This one shows why I couldn't really figure out how to use "Noodly" as a fully-realized Style: it's good for emphasis, but it doesn't really match powerful skaters. In my limited drawing chops, "everyone's noodly" design I guess would translate to "everyone looked like Wacky Arm-Flailing Tube People with Spaghetti Arms". First off, that's counter to the reality of The Derby Power Thighs / Legs one gets from training to skate in derby; and also that as a Unified Design Style is unlike the reality that every body type has something to bring to the Derby table.
