🇹🇭AMAZING DAY SPARRING at NWFA. So much learned through doing, and having so many different sparring partners was part of it. Thinking over, it's possible I should've gone home after an hour, instead of pushing through for an hour and a half. Especially because the people coming in and asking to spar with me toward the end were fresh and I was increasingly wiped out, and I think it got a little messy at the end. But seeing everyone, and in such good spirits, and having a good time doing what they love, and talking about sparring, and living, and technique, and martial arts… It made my whole weekend. ❤️🔥📝 Moments and insights tomorrow, probably. This so-called life - April 28, 2024 A week that started out sunny, then turned rainy, then a solid mix of sun and rain. The trees and flowers are loving it. All the emotions from the kids from happiness, to extreme grumpiness and everything in between. Erin and I got to attend Kai’s assembly at school where he presented in front of a large crowd. He did an amazing job! Then I got out with friends for a much needed happy hour after the ridiculous work week we all had. The weekend started with celebrating Rory’s birthday at a super fun indoor playground, followed by a chaotic and fun lunch. The kids had a blast and were exhausted. Not pictured - Lucy projectile vomiting exorcist-style in the car on the way home 🤮 We got out to OMSI on Sunday for the usual activities there. The dinosaur exhibit is still up and the kids enjoyed that it was moving and growling today. After some rest, I put together Lucy’s new big-girl bed and she is ecstatic about having a pink/purple theme going for it. It's amazing how when you have kids (or a kid), your outlook on life truly does change. Everything around you fades away and your only care in life is your tiny humans. You'd give anything to give them everything they need and want in life. You see nothing else around you except their beautiful expressions and big personalities. And because you are so focused on giving them the best life possible, time slips away super fast and the next thing you know, your little one has advanced to the next phase of life. They start sitting up, walking, talking, feeding themselves, playing by themselves...its something you don't think about until your Facebook memories pops ups and shows you where you were in life this time a year ago. If I have ever had the pleasure of freezing a moment in time for you...thank you. Now that I have my own little humans, I understand how important it is to slow down and see them for who they are in that moment. I have never regretted paying a photographer to capture our own moments and I hope you feel the same after your session with me. If you haven't booked a photographer to stop time for you, do it. Its the one thing in life you will never regret.

Heads-up to all my multitrack cassette lovers in the Pacific Northwest, and Portland, OR, specifically: When I left Portland two years ago, I filled up every inch of my U-Haul truck and had to leave a few Tascam 688 machines behind that wouldn’t fit. One of them is pictured here in a September 2021 photo. I’ll be visiting Portland this week and need to figure out a plan for them. Each 688 measures 24” W x 22” D x 5” tall and weighs 40 lbs, so getting them across country will not be simple or inexpensive. I’m open to other options, and here’s what I’ve come up with so far: 1) Do you have experience with freight shipping that you can share with me? I’d also be curious to hear what you paid the last time you had to mail a 688 somewhere. I’ve shipped them in the past, but it’s been a number of years. 2) Anybody driving across country in the near future who might want to cart them east? Let’s make a deal. 2) I may be open to selling them, and would offer a *very* — I mean *VERY* — good deal, but the buyer would need to pick up the machines from me in Portland by Tuesday, May 7th at the latest. They are very much in “parts” condition and have been living in a non-climate-controlled environment for 2 years, so new rubber parts will be a must, in addition to repair/troubleshooting. 3) I am also willing to work out an arrangement with someone in Portland where, if you can house these machines until my next Portland visit, I’ll refurbish one of them on your behalf, and again, will make you an *exceptional* deal. Basically, make me a proposal in the comments and we’ll work something out! I just don’t want these machines to end up in the dump.
