Fist Clubbing, DIPA by Salama Brewing 🇫🇮 8,0% Hops: Galaxy, Mosaic, Ella & Amarillo. A fairly modest head on a yellowish semi hazy body with a citrusy nose. The flavors are quite bitter and sour, grapefruit, lemon, zest, a hint of spruce and a long zesty and slightly acidic aftertaste. It is clearly different from most flavor profiles, takes a few sips to get used to, but once you do it is really good. Brewery visit no 152 on 4th April 2024. We checked out @cypherbrewingco today on our pit stop thru Canberra. They are in the retail district in the northern suburb of Gungahlin. They had a broad range to choose from and we had a couple of paddles. Highlights were Firesprite Hoppy Red Ale and Eternal Return DIPA. We are also tried a tinnie of Adventure Lord Smoothie Sour which was an absolute winner. Lots of dog friendly tables out the front and tasty options on their food menu. Black Dog Brewery @thehowlinghound tasting room is in a one hundred year old vine cellar and they had a great range of beers for us to try. Dubbelmås, DIPA by Stigbergets 🇸🇪 8,5% Virtually no head on a hazy body with a resiny nose. The flavors are quite deep, loads of resin, very well ballanced by fruity peach and orange. While in Wangaratta we stopped in for beers @pedalslowly It’s a new brewery right in the middle of Wangaratta and we had two amazing paddles of beers and some cracking share plates. The Good Night Imperial Stout was to die for and Cozy Hazy IPA and Sit Down Saison also rated two thumbs up. They are dog friendly and the staff were amazing. Brewery visit no 148 on 28th March 2024. Even though it meant a 65km drive, we couldn’t resist a visit up to @brightbrewery as it’s been on our brewery hit list for a long time. Situated in the middle of Bright on the Ovens River, it’s a super spacious venue which has so many table options and most areas are dog friendly. They had a huge range with more 20 taps. We had a couple of paddles and some lunch. Our favourite brews were Gator Juice Key Lime and Orange Sour, Big Jolly Boi WCIPA and Choco Palooza Chocolate Caramel Stout. Brewery visit no 147 on 27st March 2024. @byramine.homestead was built in 1842 and is the oldest homestead in regional Victoria. They cover all bases with their own beer, cider and wine. We opted for a couple of paddles and a ploughman’s lunch. Our favourites were Convicts Cure IPA, 1842 Pale Ale and Quinns Poison Lemon Lime Cider. The ploughman’s lunch was sensational. They also offer self guided tours of the homestead with a couple of beer samples.
