Big Gal doesn't fit in the frame. She's almost 3 years old and the longest vine is almost four foot long! Wild 💚 Hoya Carnosa Compacta seems to be tricky for some people. You've got to put them in well draining soil, very bright indirect light and then ignore them! Let the soil dry out completely between waterings and then wait another week with the soil being dry before you water it again. I fertilize with fox farms big blooms liquid fertilizer in the growing season, which is ending in the northern hemisphere so stop fertilizing your plants, please. Compacta seem to slow their growth down in the winter so don't expect any noticeable growth while it's cold outside. Why are people so obsessed with hoyas? - Because their baby leaves are so damn cute! Check out these little pink nuggets on my hoya curtisii -There is such diversity within the genus -As long as you plant them in a super well draining potting mix (I use at least 40%-60% pine bark) and let them dry out 110% between watering they’ll be happy -They’re prone mainly just to mealy bugs (which I’ll take over my spider-mite attracting calatheas and alocasias any day) - They love tons of sunlight but can survive in less - They love humidity but can survive in less - They’re easy to propagate and share with friends - Because #hoyahairdontcare and MOST importantly, #hoyahiphop ! 🎤
