29 April 2024 Just about the least promising looking buds you'll ever see. In fact, the first time my Libertia chilensis came into bud, I thought I'd somehow missed the flowers and was just seeing the dead remnants! They stay brown and tightly scaly for *ages*, then gradually this maroon tinge appears, which helps with a sense of potential. I don't think it will be long now before they open. Monstera Deliciosa Update 15: Some of the babies are getting big, while others look like tiny seedlings still, even close to a year later. This particular one was a little root bound and was a little too big for the plastic cup, so I gave her a repot and put her on a moss pole, as the aerial root growth on this one was quite good as well. Since I gave her a moss pole, I made the soil mix extra chunkier so the soil doesn't stay wet for long (I've been misting the moss poles twice daily due to it being very hot lately). She took the repot very well, and I also noticed secondary roots on the aerials. I hope all this helps and leads to the growth of her first fenestrated leaf very soon. 💚 . . . .
