Gardenias, while stunning are the most finicky floral I’ve ever worked with. If you touch them, they brown. Barely look at them, they brown. So whenever we get boxes of them in, we take great care to keep them pristine. We also have the luxury of a gardenia bush right outside our studio door that helps in a pinch. I had it printed onto their ‘recycled canvas’ substrate a few years ago and it has worked well for sewing up some fun outdoor pillows. The colors have ramained bright and vibrant even though we get a lot of heat/sun here, plus it is easily machine washable if it gets dirty! Thinking about picking out some new designs for spring though so we can mix & match! 🌈
