It was particularly fun at Black Rabbit last night, thanks to my wonderful friends from Swing Dance Nashville. Despite a huge ‘frog’ in my throat it was just so satisfying to play with these wonderful musicians, and to see all the lovely dancing. It’s been 25 years since I started playing swing music professionally and it’s still so exciting. I guess it’s because the improvisational nature of both the music, and dancing, and the connection that happens because of that, creates a kind of almost spiritual lift.
