52 Wochen Filmchallenge Teil 01 - Ein Anthologie Film "The Willies" (1990) > Zwei Brüder, die mit ihrem Cousin zelten, versuchen, sich gegenseitig mit Geschichten zu erschrecken. Es gibt zwei Haupterzählungen: In der einen geht es um seltsame Ereignisse in einer Grundschule, in der anderen um einen Teenager mit einem besonderen Interesse. < Ich glaube gerade in Horror Bereich sind Anthologie Filme am meisten vetreten (Creepshow, Twilight Zone, V/H/S ...). Hier haben wir einen vielleicht nicht so bekannten Vertreter dieser Gattung. Ein sehr junger Sean Astin ist in einer der Hauptrollen und ist wahrscheinlich auch nüchtern betrachtet das einzige Argument sich das Machwerk anzuschauen. Mir macht er trotz allem irgendwie Laune. Kinder am Lagerfeuer die sich Gruselgeschichten erzählen, Pudel die zum trocknen in die Mikrowelle gesteckt werden, ein Monsterüberfall auf der Schultoilette usw. Der Film hat echt was besseres verdient als geschnitten als schlechter VHS Rip mit übersteuertem Ton und zwei anderen Trash Granaten auf 1 (!) Over the course of the tale, we are treated to long, lingering looks at Gordy’s fly fetish, from the dead fly dioramas in his basement to the contaminated baked goods he peddles at school; at last, when granted the gift of a special fertilizer with which to raise them, he meets his ultimate fate. Uniquely grotesque, and packed with eye-popping cameos, THE WILLIES is an undersung classic of direct-to-video trash.
