I've been 🌸Teaching a fun and challenging 8 weeks of belly dance at Maryland Hall 🌸Landing a life changing job that aligns with my aim of fostering sustainable, equitable, inclusive communities 🌸Making my annual pilgrimage down 'e ocean for Art of the Belly, a weekend full of music, dance and connection. 🌸Mysteriously ending up involved with another special event project, a grant writing role and more gigs, despite my intention to avoid over scheduling myself 🤷♀️🤦♀️ 🌸Supporting live music and local artists 🌸Popping in and out of the fae realm on various quests in service of the Empire of the Baltimore Fairie Faire 🌸Celebrating Earth Day, sharing my Mer-wisdom and talking water cycles and regenerative land practices with an inquisitive and conscientious crowd of cuties. ...and worrying about keeping up with it all Juggling this and regular life duties tests the boundaries of my ability to manage my mental health and it doesn't feel great when I become aware that I may have overestimated my bandwith. When I have those feelings, it's a cue to pause to reevaluate my motivations and priorities. An invitation to proceed with more intention. Its a pattern that I've noticed over the last several years. Initially, I was irritated with myself for "forgetting" about how challenging things were the previous year, and repeating the "mistake". But guess what? It's actually a growth process. Every time I choose to move forward (or take a break then move forward) instead of freeze or fall apart or fall into negative patterns, I become more resillient. It took me all those years to learn to make better choices, and I'm still learning. I was originally going to end that list with "more busy weeks ahead 😬😬" because I was feeling a smidge overwhelmed. So, I paused, and I remembered that this is what it feels like when I'm learning and growing, and I love that.
