March 2023 [ A year ago ] the Lord gave me this 👆 word when I was about leaving home for an assignment. prior to that time, I had a lot going on in my head, I had a lot of questions running through my mind. I knew it was time to leave where I was at the time but I was scared, scared of how to go about my assignment. During one of those meetings in church the word of the Lord came... ISAIAH 41:10. I can't define the peace and boldness I had afterwards, knowing I'm not going for the assignment alone. fast-forward to few months after, around August 2023 ending, a lot began to happen around me, I was loosing faith, I was getting scared once again. just then Neeja released the song ALONE, this sound healed my faith cause I was loosing it already, I left it on repeat for days just to reassure myself of God's word. Fast-forward again to early December 2023, I had few 'not so interesting' experiences. I totally forgot the word given to me few months back. A lot of things felt wrong at the time and I just couldn't place it. I was getting overwhelmed by the things happening around me when the Lord gave me another word, Psalms 23 :4-6. another word to sustain me not just for a season, but for a lifetime. I was instructed to share this for some persons here, that word you need as an assurance is here [ Psalms 23 ] this scripture is not the usual Sunday school memory verse you used to know, it is beyond that. many of you need to come to the reality of this word today, that you're never alone! I WISH YOU ENOUGH Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter’s departure had been announced. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said: “I love you and I wish you enough.” The daughter replied, “Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom.” They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I sat. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, “Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?” “Yes, I have,” I replied. “Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever good-bye?”, I inquired. “I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is the next trip back will be for my funeral,” she said. Then I asked further, "when you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I wish you enough', may I ask what that means?” She began to smile. “That’s a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.” She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more and then she went on: “When we said ‘I wish you enough’ we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them”. Then turning toward me, she shared the following, reciting it from memory. “I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. "I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. "I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. "I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. "I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. "I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. "I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.” She then began to cry and walked away. Nurture Relationships! As they say, it takes a minute to find a special person; an hour to appreciate them; a day to love them and then an entire life to forget them. God is so sweet! He makes it a point to show His love and kindness to us in every way. Especially, when we needed it the most. I'm so touched by His graciousness and faithfulness. Nothing can compare with God's love for us. His love is better than life. Psalm 63:3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
