Are you a worrier? I used to be a huge worrier. I would think: what if this happens or that happens, and let my mind wander. I’ve read that worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair. It keeps you moving but doesn’t get you anywhere! Most times, we worry about things that are out of our control, which makes it even more useless to worry. Growing up, we had a magnet on our fridge which stated “Never Borrow Sorrow from Tomorrow”. One statistic says that only about 8% of the things people worry about come true. In other words, less than one in 10 things you stress about is actually worth it. The Word of God says it this way in Matthew 6:34 - “Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.” The next time you begin to worry, make it a prayer instead, and leave it with Jesus. He will take care of the details for you. I learned to trust in the Lord from situations that were completely out of my control or influence and I’m so very thankful that God allowed those situations in my life so that I could learn to trust Him. To trust in the Lord about something is to fully depend on Him to handle a situation. It is to wait on Him to move. It means you are putting the situation in his hands and leaving it there. You will never learn to trust the Lord if you don’t wait on Him. I want to encourage you today to seek the Lord about everything but most importantly things that are heavy on your heart. Pour out your heart to Him and then get up wash your face and then say out of your mouth I’m going to trust You Lord and then focus on something else and go about your day. Faith is the birthplace of miracles 🙌🙏 God can heal whomever He chooses, but we also know Jesus “could not do any miracles” in His own hometown because of their lack of faith (Mark 6:5). The lepers were cleansed AS THEY WENT to show the priests (Luke 17:14). Naaman’s flesh was restored AS HE WASHED HIMSELF 7 TIMES in the Jordan, as the man of God told him (2 Kings 5:14). God is healing me as I walk alongside Him and address the things He brings to the surface. I say this not because I am an optimist, but because I am a believer. Jesus was and is a Healer, and He has spoken to me through scripture, signs, and other mature Christians, progressively revealing more of the story behind my pain while simultaneously taking me on a journey to draw closer to Him. Everyone seems to have that one reliable source they go to for news and information. Although reliable sources are getting scarce, people have their favourites. Might I recommend something? Before you go to your source, go to THE Source. Once you’ve consulted with the Lord in prayer by reading His truth in the Bible, you’re better equipped to discern what is truth and what’s a lie. If something seems “off” ask the Lord to clarify the situation through His word so you can see more clearly. But always seek God first. It’s too dangerous to lean on our own understanding these days. Dear friends, don’t ever believe the lie that you’re not good enough. That comes straight from the enemy in order to rob you of your joy, and even your life. Why? Because he’s so jealous of God’s love for you! That’s something the devil will never have. God’s love for you is unshakable. He sacrificed His only son in order to redeem you and spend all eternity with you. That’s how much he loves you. The very nature of God is love, and you are His beloved. He created you in His own image and called you good. He doesn’t promise an easy life, but He does promise to restore to you more than was taken from you, to prosper you, to give you hope, and eternal life with Jesus our King. He’s a good Father who stands by His promises. He can not lie. There’s nothing you can do that will ever take away His love for you. He will carry your burdens and carry you too. So, trust Him, not the other guy! Tell the devil he can go straight back to hell and give yourself permission to be happy. Love and be loved as you should, as God does. You are more than good enough!
