പൊട്ടൻ തെയ്യത്തിന്റെ അഗ്നി പ്രേവേശം ( ദൈവം നടക്കും വഴികളിൽ Part 4 ) തെയ്യം നടക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് പൊട്ടന്റെ തോറ്റം നടക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് (വൈകീട്ട് 8 മണിയോടെ) പുളിമരം, ചെമ്പകമരം തുടങ്ങിയ മരങ്ങൾ ഉയരത്തിൽ കൂട്ടിയിട്ട് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്ന “മേലേരി”ക്ക് തീകൊടുക്കും. രാവിലെ 4-5 മണിയാകുമ്പോഴേക്കും ഇവ ഏകദേശം കത്തി കനലായി തീർന്നിട്ടുണ്ടാകും. ആ സമയത്താണ് പൊട്ടന്റെ തെയ്യം പുറപ്പെടുക. ഇതിനിടെ കനൽ മാത്രം ഒരിടത്തും, കത്തികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവ മറ്റൊരിടത്തും കൂട്ടിയിടും. പൊട്ടൻ തെയ്യം കത്തുന്ന തീയിലും, കനലിലിലും മാറി മാറി ഇരിക്കുകയും കിടക്കുകയുമൊക്കെ ചെയ്യും . തീയെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കുവാൻ കുരുത്തോലകൊണ്ടുള്ള് “ഉട” ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും വളരെയധികം ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ചെയ്തില്ലെങ്കിൽ പൊള്ളലേൽക്കുവാൻ സാധ്യതയുള്ളൊരനുഷ്ഠാനമാണിത്. കത്തുന്ന തീയിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോഴും “കുളിരണ്, വല്ലതെ കുളിരണ്“ എന്നാണ് പൊട്ടൻ തെയ്യം പറയാറ്. തെറ്റ് ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ തിരുത്തുക 🙏 #kannurtheyyam #kannurstories #allaboutkannur #keralgodsowncountry #kannur #theyyamphotography #theyyam
