This is a very well made, well produced and well presented series. Some well known crimes, one or two perhaps not as famous, I was definitely aware of both thr Deli and Pilmar cases, each episode though, has something to offer. It's a fascinating insight into how much The Police invest in their cases. Also, it's interesting to see the crossovers since it covers a number of infamous New York cases through the eyes of the Detectives, Prosecutors, and witnesses to the crime. Overall, it's worth seeing if you're into the genre. The detectives and family members detail the events, scars and tragedies of several murders, crimes that took place across various parts of New York. This show is grounded, nothing is sensationalised or over dramatised. You get a good sense of the personal stake the police investigators and Prosecutors take in all those cases. It's an anthology series that very cleverly goes backwards and forwards in time utilising a lot of the main detectives and law enforcement officers. It's chilling, disturbing, jaw dropping, even frustrating at times you ride a whole rolercoaster of emotions with each case. My heart goes to all the victims and families, it's such a horrible tragedy and I hope they're fine. Reviewing IGI OWO : We do not know who we truly are until we are exposed to a certain amount of wealth and fame. This story speaks of how unexpected blessings can create unexpected twists in people's lives. This couple had it going good, but the unexpected came and shook them to the foundations. Blessing turned into curse? Not really, I'd rather say unmanaged blessings meeting unprepared minds can be worse than a curse. Being a single parent is not a problem, but indulging your kids can turn out to be the root of future evil. So much and more packed in this movie. It is long, so be ready to sit through. I watched till the end cos the hype was so much that I couldn't wait to see it. And yeah, my expectations were met, not totally tho but fairly good. But I won't spoil it for those who haven't watched. La lumineuse Los Angeles est paradoxalement depuis toujours une capitale du film noir, de Chinatown au Heat de Michael Mann, sous le soleil de la cité des anges semble se cacher toutes les turpitudes de l’âme humaine. Le film de Karyn Kusama se conforme à l’esthétique du genre, la directrice de la photographie Julie Kirkwood baigne le film dans une aura néo-noir et plonge ses personnages dans les banlieues arides du grand Los Angeles, avec ses clôtures grillacées, ses chiens aboyants désespérément et ses détritus s’amassant entre les autoroutes qui irriguent la mégapole californienne. On y fait la connaissance d’Erin Bell, vétéran du LAPD, alors qu’elle se réveille dans sa voiture avec ce qui semble être une gigantesque gueule de bois. Elle en émerge pour se rendre sur les lieux d’un crime, un talus où gît, face contre terre, un cadavre tatoué. Bien qu’elle annonce aux détectives déjà sur place qu’elle connaît la victime et savoir qui pourrait l’avoir tué, ceux-ci ne semble pas faire cas de son opinion. Elle regagne son commissariat, où elle n’est guère plus populaire, un pli l’y attend contenant un billet de banque marqué de peinture violette. Ces événements vont la mettre sur la trace de Silas, un criminel qui lui a échappé voilà plus de 17 ans, lors une mission d’infiltration de son gang menée avec un agent du FBI Chris.
