🍻Frisch auf!🍻 We’re stoked to be participating once again in this year’s Bluff Schuetzenfest, happening THIS SATURDAY, May 18 in beautiful La Grange, TX! We’ll be pouring a selection of some of our classic, German-inspired beers and sharing in the history and heritage of Texas brewing at the incredible @kreische_brewery & Monument Hill Historic Sites. For half a century, between the 1870s and 1920s, the Bluff Schuetzenverein invited people from across Texas to gather on the Bluff overlooking La Grange. They participated in marksmanship competitions, celebrated the holidays, enjoyed picnics, played games for young and old, and danced to German folk music. Festivities start at 11am and are family-friendly, with special exhibits, 5K fun run, a laser shooting gallery, classes and demonstrations, and guided tours. The festival is free admission. The Texas History on Tap event is ticketed and goes from 1pm-7pm. Ticket holders enjoy access to the beer garden tent and are able to enjoy German food and drinks, plus have premium access to the beer garden stage while dancing to German polka and Texas music. This little kitchen of mine has been working hard. We had our last Sunday supper with our dear friends last night…we head home to Long Beach on Saturday. Sad to be leaving a month early…but also thankful for getting on the road again with my breast cancer “journey”. Except for one random zinnia plant, a few basil seedlings and lots of lush asparagus fern…it’s been cleaned out and mulched. When we return early February the asparagus should finally be brown and ready to cut back.
