Karakoram highway is closed due to heavy rain and landslides in Kohistan and Diamer while all kinds of traffic have been diverted to alternative routes. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said that road clearance work is in progress which will open tomorrow (Wednesday). NDMA is in touch with the concerned authorities and the situation is continuously monitored. Snowfall blocked Baltistan Road at multiple locations in the Baghicha area of Skardu, and landslides also blocked the Ghizer-Shandur Road in the Bargho area. The upper areas of Ghizer, Hunza, Nagar, Skardu, Shigar, Kharmang, Astore, and Ghanche received three to six inches of snowfall, and temperatures dropped below minus six in the upper areas of the region. کابل: افغانستان میں مسلسل ہونے والی بارشوں اور برفباری نے بڑے پیمانے پر تباہی مچا دی اور معمولات زندگی معطل ہوکر رہ گئے۔ خبروں کے مطابق بارشوں اور برفباری سے افغانستان کے مشرقی صوبے نورستان اور پنجشیر سب سے زیادہ متاثر ہوئے ہیں اور یہ علاقے ملک کے دیگر حصوں سے کٹ کر رہ گئے۔ طالبان حکام نے بتایا کہ صوبے نورستان میں لینڈ سلائیڈنگ کے نتیجے میں 20 مکانات تباہ ہو گئے اور ملبے میں 50 کے قریب افراد دبے ہوئے ہیں جب کہ خراب موسم کے باعث امدادی کاموں میں مشکلات کا سامنا ہے۔ امدادی کاموں کے دوران ملبے سے 25 لاشیں نکالی گئی ہیں جب کہ 8 افراد کو شدید زخمی حالت میں اسپتال منتقل کیا گیا ہے جن میں سے 3 کی حالت نازک ہونے کے سبب ہلاکتوں میں اضافے کا خدشہ ہے۔ ملبے تلے اب بھی کئی افراد دبے ہوئے ہیں جن کی تلاش کے لیے امدادی کام کو مسلسل برفباری کے باعث رکنا پڑا ہے۔ یاد رہے کہ اگست 2021 میں طالبان کے اقتدار سنبھالنے کے بعد سے افغانستان کے اثاثے منجمد ہیں جب کہ عالمی اداروں نے فنڈنگ بھی روک دی ہے جس کے باعث ناگہانی آفات سے نمٹنے کے لیے درکار مشینری اور افرادی قوت کی کمی کا سامنا ہے۔ #tehreerepakistan #afganstan #snowfalling #landsliding
