One of the biggest things I cover when working 1:1 with people AND companies is making sure that your messaging is clear. You may have your title and a quick blurb, which to you is crystal and not noisy at all, but what about to someone who has never heard of you? I may not know what the 5 letters after your name mean [good work though 👩‍🎓😉 👏]. My friend, and someone I have learned SOMUCH from @latashajames said it best 🥪 How do you make a sandwich? Don’t assume someone knows how. Latasha was explaining how to write-out your business practices, but the point stands here. Explain to your audience like you’re explaining to someone who has never made a peanut butter and jelly. You need bread, a knife, peanut butter, jelly…explain those steps. Yes, you’ll want to get granular and there is time for that AFTER people are focused on your. First Get clear. Make sure your messaging explains to people quickly and clearly what you do. Traveling has been different for the past year and a half [almost] but am I the only one who is like “eh, not thaaaat different” because you weren’t traveling that much?! When I am with my family, I strive to be fully present. Often on social we think about specific promotions, events, or timely content, and that is important, but in order to have “filler content” keep in mind evergreen content when you’re having photo shoots, creating graphics, or working on your content calendar. But that ⬆️ happens a lot less when I stick to my morning routine, repeat my affirmations [ which is a lot less woo than it sounds...picture me in a robe that has a sunless tanner stain on it, 5a.m accidentally sticking the loaf of bread in the fridge as I shuffle around packing lunchboxes while I wait for my coffee saying the quotes to myself that I have sticky-notes of on our tiny bathroom mirror ...] and remind myself that there is no point torturing myself about what I did wrong yesterday. Instead? I learn from it. I realize that I didn’t like the x,y,z feeing so what could I do next time? And I try to set small goals so that I can celebrate any and all progress. .
