Grandma Rosie’s collects lids for -Lids for Kids. These plastic lids are turned into hand and arm mobility aids for children. A wonderful volunteer project established to rescue every recyclable lid from landfill and protect our environment from plastic waste. I was asked the other day why I decided start doing this because I'm not a fan of kids. This is true I have no desire to have my own children however every child is special to their parent and being given the opportunity to be normal by having #prostheticlimbs & have them smile after no doubt some situations being hard for them to deal with you'll find disabled kids are more appreciative of the life they have then the "average" kid who doesn't have a battle of doing the things they take for granted. I am also a #dogmum who faced twice possibly having my boy in wheels if he didn't recover from back surgery and I know if there was a similar scheme to help pets out I'd appreciate the opportunity to have access to cheap or free wheels from recycled goods. #payitforward
Today we helped mum wash these bottle lids about 3weeks ago she decided jump on board and start helping #lidsforkids #goulburn sector after seeing a post from our local shop @the_midge_tallong after all We are #tallonghounds So mum said challenge accepted- being a chef and access to Lots of lids in this time she s collected over 1000 lids she says she only counted 1 bucket it had 490 so she figured 2 buckets one bag she s well over 1k!
