Mit meinen Landtagskollegen Werner Stieglitz (CSU), Christian Zwanziger (Grüne) und Harry Scheuenstuhl (SPD) sowie ungefähr 50 Schülerinnen und Schülern der Fachoberschule Schloss Schwarzenberg habe ich beim Planspiel „Der Landtag sind wir“ diskutiert. Tief beeindruckt war ich dabei wieder einmal, wie sehr die Demokratieförderung im Selbstverständnis dieser Schule verankert ist und wie sehr dort alle Beteiligten - ob Schulleitung, Lehrkräfte oder die Jugendlichen selbst - für dieses Thema brennen. Ich war schon sehr oft auf Schloss Schwarzenberg zu Gast und immer wieder fällt mir dieser Umstand positiv auf. Nach einem etwas ruhigerem ersten Halbjahr, in dem wir von den @fw_bayern auf die Landtagswahl vorbereitet wurden und viel Input und Unterstützung bekommen haben, ging es im Juli dann so richtig in den Wahlkampf. Obwohl dieses Mal weniger Podiumsdiskussionen in meinem Terminkalender standen, gab es dafür ein Interview mit dem Fränkischen Tag an meiner Schule, einen Videodreh mit TV Oberfranken auf der Altenburg, Treffen mit anderen FREIEN WÄHLERN außerhalb des Landkreises u. v. m. Mit vielen anderen Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten bin ich heute der Einladung der @fw_bayern nach Wolnzach gefolgt. Nach einer kurzen Begrüßung mit Dankesworten von Susann Enders bedankte sich auch Hubert Aiwanger bei allen, die dazu beigetragen haben, dass bei den Landtags- und Bezirkstagswahlen viele weitere Mandate hinzugekommen sind und die FREIEN WÄHLER so auf Platz 2 gelandet sind 🥳 Anschließend ging es noch nach Würgau, wo wir von Bezirksebene zum Essen eingeladen wurden. Disneyland is a magical and crowded place, especially during the holidays. As we got ready to go to the park, I encouraged my family to watch for ways to serve others. A small act of kindness can make a difference when someone is stressed or tired, or least expecting it. Little did I know that as I was looking for ways to serve, other people would be serving us without even trying! I think I was more aware of it, and those simple moments stayed with me. Here are a few of those simple moments: 🌟 Lovely Lunch Lady: It was lunchtime, and I was carrying a tray laden with food, pushing a stroller and trying to find a free table. Franco had gone to a ride only the older kids could ride, so I had the two younger kids. As I stood waiting, a kind lady sitting by herself offered her table to us. I said “Thank you!” and just as I put my tray down, a table nearby cleared up. I thanked her again, and sat down at the other table. A few minutes later, I saw her offer her table to another mother and child. They started conversing contentedly. I smiled at the sight. 🌟 Didn’t Think Twice: I was waiting in the restroom with the two youngest (one of many restroom trips with four children!) and a lady with her son was about to close the door to the biggest stall when she saw me. She immediately opened the door again and told me to go in because she saw I had the stroller. She absolutely did not have to do that, and I said I could wait but she insisted. I thanked her and was amazed at her thoughtfulness. It would have been so easy for her to think, “Oh, they can wait a couple more minutes. I’m carrying my son who needs to use the bathroom.” She didn’t even seem to think twice about it, though, which really touched me. 🌟 One Pirate’s Treasure: Clarke and I were in line waiting for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride… (Continued in comments ⬇️)
