Come to the Mountain of the Lord 🤍 Today I went to the temple. It was so wonderful to go with my husband. Each time I go the temple, I’m thrown back in time. As I put on my slippers, I remember when I bought them before becoming endowed. I remember that night like it was yesterday. When I see my husband sitting on the other side of the room, I feel so grateful that he and I are able to attend together when we can. When I’m in the celestial room, I close my eyes and I’m taken right back to the celestial room in the Las Vegas temple. The temple I visited while on vacation with my whole family one last time before my dad passed away. I’ve been going to the temple for a long time. I’m so grateful to have grown up in Utah surrounded by so many and I realize what a blessing that is. I cherish all of my memories at the temple and those I’ve attended with. But my experiences haven’t always been perfect. There have been many times, including today, that I’ve left the temple feeling discouraged and unsure of how to move forward. How do people receive revelation in the temple? I’ve gone with so many questions. I have prayed so many prayers inside the temple. And I always leave exactly as I came….. without answers. I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong or maybe God speaks to me elsewhere but it can be discouraging for me. I just recently renewed my recommend and I have new motivation to attend more often. As I filled out my @simply.striving temple journal tonight, I felt inspired to ponder what I’m hearing and learning and how I can apply those things to the questions I do have and the prayers that I do pray. I have to believe God is listening. And that he cares. I have to believe it. . . . . . #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #churchofjesuschrisfoflatterdaysaints #churchofjesuschrist #lds #mormon #sharegoodness #lighttheworld #ldsspeaker #ldsblogger #mormonblogger #followtheprophet #hearhim #comefollowme #ldswriter #ldsinfluencer #latterdaysaints #bookofmormon #generalconference #christian #temple #ldstemple #revelation #journaling #templejournal #inhisname #prayer #praying

Come, Follow Me with FAIR – Mosiah 4–6 – @autumndicksoncfm "Watch Your Thoughts" "King Benjamin doesn’t mess around with his sermon. He knows what he came to do, and he does it. He doesn’t mince words. He teaches some pretty essential doctrines with no apologies attached. Let’s talk about one of these no-nonsense doctrines. Mosiah 4:29-30 29 And finally, I cannot tell you all the things whereby ye may commit sin; for there are divers ways and means, even so many that I cannot number them. 30 But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch yourselves, and your thoughts, and your words, and your deeds, and observe the commandments of God, and continue in the faith of what ye have heard concerning the coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, remember, and perish not. These are some of those verses that used to haunt me back before I knew how much I mattered to the Lord. There are so many ways to sin and if I can’t watch every little thing about myself, I’m going to perish. There is a reason I can sympathize with those who have left the church and felt a 'great burden lifted off their shoulders.' It is because of misunderstanding verses like this. It’s not fun to carry that kind of fear and perfectionism around. And though there is much I could say about sin and its consequences, I actually want to run in a different direction with this verse." Fern and Faun. Such sweet, old-fashioned names for the twins—the last children born to their parents, George and Sarah Follett Ellsworth. Born in 1905 in old Mesa, Arizona, they were doted on by all in their large, extended family…but perhaps especially by their Aunt Ellye. A twin herself, Ellye was also a professional photographer—probably a rare thing for a young woman to be in those days. But photographer she was—with a studio of her own near her parents’ home, and two of her favorite subjects were her twin nieces. Auntie Ellye took every opportunity to photograph the girls. As they grew out of babyhood, the problem became knowing who was who, as they were practically identical. Faun soon solved that dilemma, however, as she began to throw a fit if she couldn’t be seated in every photo. Fern didn’t seem to care either way, so Faun is usually sitting happily while Fern stands sweetly next to her. I love these photos, as they bring my husband’s grandmother Fern so vividly to life for me and our girls. I met her late in her life, and Roger and I married less than a year before she passed away, so these are precious photos for our family. And who knows? With 6 sets of twins in our combined recent pedigree….maybe it’s time for another set or two? Time will tell. #familysearch #ancestry #lds #twins #telltheirstories #familystories

Why are Dads important? Today I had the chance to take my 3-year-old son, Russell, to the shooting range with two of my best friends for the first time. I was worried Russell would cry at the sound of the shots, but as soon as my friend fired the first shot, this boy opened the biggest smile in the world and started shouting with joy. My biggest concern was not being able to control his crying, but he loved the experience, and my job in the coming years is to make this boy fearless and tough. This question resonates in all spheres of life, from emotional development to the moral and ethical formation of children. One of the most crucial roles a man plays is in the life of his son. This relationship is fundamental in shaping a personality oriented towards godly values, positive masculinity, and love for work and family. The dad’s presence and example are like foundations that support the healthy and balanced growth of the child. Furthermore, the relationship between father and son plays a vital role in learning the importance and responsible use of firearms for personal defense. In a world where security is a constant concern, it is essential for parents to impart to their children not only the proper technique for handling firearms but also the ethical and moral values that govern their use. The father serves as a guide and an example, teaching his son about responsibility, respect for life, and the importance of protecting oneself and those they love. #lds #latterdaysaints #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #mormon #ldsconf #ldsquotes #ldsquotes #fatherhood #masculinity #utah

#atleticonacional #atleticonacionaldemedellin #atleticonacional💚 #atléticonacional #nacional #verdolagas #hinchadaverdolaga #siempreverdolaga #verde #siempreverdolagas #lds #losdelsursiemprepresentes #losdelsur #sdvsf💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚 #sdvsf💚 #

I such a testimony of the “mom swap”. Expect opposition but also expect blessings! Satan has declared a war on women and we need to be strengthened spiritually. President Nelson has repeatedly invited us to go to the temple so this is mu suggestions to the moms who feel like they “can’t go because they have little ones at home”, I get it and as I prayed this was the solution for me so give it a try! ❤ #christccpodcast #temple #lds #thebookofmormon

This talk sums up what I have felt off and on since starting this account. There are many people who are sharing their witness of gospel truths that face attacks daily. Some ask us why we would even put ourselves through it. I can quite confidently tell you that most of those who do so have no other motive other than because they have felt the spiritual push to do so. I also know there are many of you out there that face your own type of persecution for the beliefs you hold. I have had every attack thrown at me by strangers trying to disparage my faith but to no avail. Why? Because I have had spiritual witnesses over and over that the teachings found within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are from God. The validity of the gospel teachings I share and testify of rest on a spiritual foundation and years of witnessing how everything around me denotes that there is a God who has a plan. And that plan, when followed just makes sense.

Reflecting on the Journey: The Veil of Memory Often, I find myself trying to recall more of the good than the not-so-good in my life. The idea of a premortal existence lingers in my mind, shrouded by a veil that obscures any memories of a time before this world. This veil seems to extend its influence here on Earth as well. After 12 years of schooling, two years on a mission, raising five children, and nearly 17 years in law enforcement, my memories are a sparse collection of significant highs and profound lows. It’s as if this veil is not just a partition between pre-earth life and now, but also a filter through which my earthly experiences are sifted—retaining just enough recollections to guide me. This selective memory might actually serve a purpose, enabling us to move forward in life. It holds back the flood of everyday moments but preserves those critical memories that teach vital lessons and reinforce our faith. This isn’t a doctrine, just a personal reflection on how life’s selective memory seems to operate. The frustration of forgetting is real, yet I recognize that some of this is on me for not keeping a journal. Journaling is more than a practice; it’s a way to breach that veil ever so slightly, capturing the moments that our minds might otherwise let slip away. By writing down our experiences, we ensure they remain accessible, not just to sustain us through trials but to enrich the narrative of our lives. Hear Him!

I have a “love hate” relationship with social media. Most of the time I don’t like it. Why? Because it’s a dumping ground for humans to criticize, complain and spread hate. That’s not me. I don’t want to engage in or anywhere near that stuff. If it’s a negative post, I just scroll past, trying to find something of value where I’m lifted up out of the grimy and yucky world. Many times I’ve been tempted to completely walk away from all social media and delete my accounts. But then one of my friends will reach out and say how grateful they are that I made them smile, laugh or feel uplifted because of something I posted. Then I know there is a purpose to social media. It can be a place where we go to feel good and to help one another through this freaking hard life. So I stay. I hope you know that you are seen, and heard, and loved by me ❤️ I hope you know that what I put out here into the social media universe is intentional and mindful ❤️ The world is hard and we’re all just trying to grow where we’re planted. It’s desolate and dry and lonely. In the endowment members of Christ’s restored church are making covenants (promises) with God. We promise to: obey God’s commandments, live the gospel of Jesus Christ, be chaste and faithful to our spouse, and dedicate everything to the service of God. We learn of the creation of the world, the fall of Adam, the plan of salvation and how to return to the presence of the Father through Christ. There is also prayer circle where members also pray for friends and family in need of help (specifically around an altar with uplifted hands). Participants wear temple robes which are very sacred and symbolize being clothed with priesthood power and authority. The word “endow” in Greek means “to clothe” and this symbolism of putting on these holy vestments represents us becoming holy, it shows how through Christ we become priests, priestesses, kings and queens to serve alongside our great high priest. After the endowment we proceed to the veil and afterwards enter into the celestial room. #temples #jesus #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #lds #mormon #christianity #catholic #orthodox #protestant #jehovahwitness #judaism #islam #zorostrianism #exmormon

I never want to lose my skepticism. I’ve had trust issues my entire life. When I was a kid, I deliberately touched a hot lightbulb because I didn’t believe my mom when she said it was hot. I laugh at this particular story from my youth, but it also stems from a combination of nature and nurture. My personality is naturally a questioner. But I also grew up around a lot of excuses, fake reasons, and lies of omission. So I learned that the only way to find something out is to decide for yourself what you’ll believe and who you’ll trust. The church used to be something I could trust. Now it’s something I will never trust again. So often when people question or leave the church, we’ve reached a point where almost everything about it makes us question the underlying motive/meaning. And that can be a good thing. But on the flip side, we’ve found such a safety net within the fringe/ex Mormon community that sometimes those red flag indicators stop functioning anywhere else besides the Mormon community. I never want this to happen. I am skeptical of almost everything the church does. I question and investigate all the things. The fringe and ex Mormons praise questioning when it’s against the church, but if you have that same level of healthy skepticism towards their reasoning/understanding of any given topic, all of a sudden we’re back to strict adherence of not questioning (this has been my personal experience over the last 4 years). I will never stop questioning. I don’t care how much older you are than me, I don’t care how much you know the scriptures, I don’t care how long you’ve “been doing this”. If it doesn’t make sense, cue the detective hat and magnifying glass. It’s not about you. It’s about never EVER allowing anyone to make me feel like I can’t get more information, express a concern, or discover a better way. The church tried to stomp that out of me, and for a time they succeeded. Now that I’ve taken that power back, no one’s going to stop me from asking Who? What? Why? Where? When? How? Ever. Ever again.

⛪️ 2 of 52: Good Shepherd Community of Christ in Kansas City, Missouri (Book of Mormon Rally) Last weekend, I was in the Kansas City area (note: didn't see Travis and Taylor) for this year's Book of Mormon Rally. It brought together people from various Latter Day Saint church backgrounds under one roof. The two-night event was organized by Patrick McCay (author of Healing the Breach) and Casey Griffiths (BYU Professor of Church History). The first night featured four speakers with a variety of topics (ranging from peacemaking to the Liahona). The highlight for me was from Jared Halverson (BYU Professor and host of the popular Unshaken podcast). He discussed first impressions along with framing, and showed examples of how this has caused initial mockery of the Book of Mormon - noting the musical from a decade ago, but more so the 1829 publications like Paul Pry's Weekly Bulletin that sensationalized it before it was published. The second night was the rally that had a number of speakers from different Restoration churches, one of which was myself as a new convert. My talk started with the interesting wardrobe I had accumulated while doing the 52in52 project - ranging from outfits for cowboys, deer hunters, and bikers. Eventually, it led to General Conference where I attended the first day in Latter-day Saint dress, the second in dressed-down attire to match the street preachers. Oddly, it was the Protestant outfit that didn't seem to fit right after seeing the Bible being used to insult and scold conference goers. I met a number of terrific people both nights. Thanks to everyone that made it out. Both nights were at full capacity. I'm sure next year, they'll have to find a bigger venue. ▶️ YouTube video is posted below (in the comments) if you'd like to see how everything turned out. #lds #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints

Some thoughts I remembered today, from many years ago... "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;" (Ephesians 2:19-20) Many years ago, we had the opportunity to have Thanksgiving dinner with Cousin Tommy and other extended family. At the time, he was serving as President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (Pres. Monson's mom was a Condie.) We ate turkey and mashed potatoes. Then we sat on a couch and talked about our family, the newly announced Rome Temple and life with the prophet. I remember Cameron asking about the difference he felt from having a turkey dinner, with folding tables and crock pots, versus listening to Pres. Monson speak as a living prophet, from a general conference podium. All are invited to come and follow. No one is a stranger or foreigner in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the corner stone. I am grateful for living prophets and apostles that walk the earth today, like at the time Jesus. “Thou shalt give heed unto all his [the prophet's] words and commandments which he shall give unto you as he receiveth them, walking in all holiness before me; For his word ye shall receive, as if from mine own mouth, in all patience and faith” (D&C 21:4–5) Sometimes heeding a prophet's teachings, living faith, and keeping covenants can be difficult. Sometimes submitting our will to God's is uncomfortable. The world doesn't often celebrate devotion and faith. But after fifty-three years of life, I have come to know commandments and covenants are about a relationship of love. Grateful for inspired leaders that are fellow travelers on my journey. Thanks Cousin Tommy for your stories and tender heart. #prophets #lds #thomassmonson #scripture #faith

T. B I G N E W S 🎉 we are moving to Utah! It’s been a long season of watching the Lord open doors and guide us through them! He is so kind and faithful. Even when we don’t know what is happening, He is leading, friends. Our family is moving to Utah! We love the people of Utah and desire so badly for them to know the Jesus of the Bible, who is God. You know how often times when we say, “Oh I’ll never do that (insert whatever it is that you’re so against)?” Yeah, that’s often the way the Lord uses to make it happen. So, long story semi-short? We tried moving to Utah right after our forth son was born. He will be 2 soon. Almost 2 years ago we tried and tried very hard to get to Utah … nothing. Not one door opened. We thought, “Lord, You’ve given this burden and desire. You want lost people saved. Why isn’t this working?” My husband applied for jobs, and lots of them. Not one single door opened, but boy, am I thankful none of them did because we were trying in our own strength to make it happen. The Lord has far better plans, which of course is how He works. Who knew we needed some things worked out? We spent the next 6 months in biblical counseling, healing and watching the Lord be so gracious for so many things. Here’s what happened next. The plan I told you we said we would never do… yeah, that’s what the Lord had doors wide open for. It was almost like we weren’t even knocking. The Lord was leading us and the doors were already opened. So here we are, now, after a long time coming! We are being endorsed through the North American Mission Board to be sent to Utah to share the gospel, which means we will be fully financially supported through the saints of the Church to get there! It’s one of the biggest honors and most humbling things we’ve ever witnessed and gotten to take part in with the body of Christ; to watch people come alongside you for the sake of the gospel. It’s just truly so incredible. No words really say how much it means. All glory to the Lord! We are His vessels! Salvation Belongs to the Lord! *Continued in comments*
