Off to 2024, we go! Here’s a look back at 2023 and ALL the happy faces I got to see 😍 I love my friends and family. Happy New Year! THANK YOU for being part of a strange but great year. I got to have a solo show in Taiwan, had the best #SDCC in 18 years, and sold a few big and important paintings! Incredibly, 2024 marks my 12th year making a living as a full-time independent artist. One thing is certain, I wouldn’t be able to do it without your love, encouragement and financial support by following my journey and collecting art you love. I am truly thankful that our paths crossed and continue to overlap. 2024 feels like an open book for me. The expansiveness makes me feel anxious and excited about potential opportunities. What if I make art purely for myself? More paintings in the realm of the Hello Kitty peacock painting…. but bigger? Getting sick has reminded me that none of this matters without good health. Happy Holidays, my friends! 🎄 It seems like most of my posts lately have been about gratitude… so here’s another! 😀 (Pls bear with me 😆). I just got back to SF after spending some time in SoCal co-hosting a pop-up at @leannalinswonderland with my pal @missmindyart and exhibiting at DCon in Anaheim. It was a great trip filled with laughs, treats, and big hugs with family and friends. And I sold a bunch of art! It’s always a nice feeling coming back to the studio with less art to put back. It’s tremendous validation and encouragement. The only bummer is I’ve been recovering from ‘the virus’ and will be spending this Christmas by myself. No need to feel sorry for me! I got plenty of nutritious food to last me a week 😂 Though being sick totally reminded me of just how much my friends and family care about me. It also made me SO grateful for having good health and a strong body to fight and heal. So please take good care of yourselves out there this holiday season. Stay healthy, keep warm and enjoy being with loved ones. Feel free to drop me a line or come visit me before I head back to Asia end of next month. I would love to see and hear from you! ‘A place of joy, wonder and abundance.’ I was thinking back to creating my solo show earlier this year in Taiwan and how I tapped into this place in my subconscious mind where all is joyous, wondrous and plenty. And then it hit me, while I was painting, I was also having home cooked meals with my parents everyday and spending time with family whenever I wanted. I love that Art allows me to reflect and bring my inner self to our reality. I don’t always feel at ease, in fact, quite the opposite, but it feels good to take on the responsibility of showing our inherent goodness thru images of fuzzy animals and Cosmic Messengers.
