Mason got to celebrate his birthday at Club 33 at Disneyland on Wednesday. <3 My mom went with us and as a special treat, got us a room at the Grand Californian. I could end the story there, say we had a fantastic, incredible, awesome, delicious time but that isn’t the best part of his birthday. Mason asked us all to wear our blood donor t-shirts to Disney as team shirts. When we pulled up to the Grand Californian a woman named Dawn opened my door. She greeted me, then immediately read my shirt and her eyes filled with tears. She was a blood donor and she was so happy to receive a big thank you from all of us and she wanted to meet Mason and tell him she was a blood donor. He was just getting out of the car and after a quick conversation he remembered we had an extra NYASOP book in the car. He gave it to her and off we went to check in. The attendant that welcomed us read our shirts and got all excited saying she too was a donor. Before she left she said if we needed anything during our stay, just let her know, and that included blood. Each time we happened to see her after that she would point to her arm, ask Mason if he was all good and he would crack up. We went on a few rides and came back once our room was ready and they brought up our luggage plus an additional bag. Dawn had written Mason a special note and got him a Star Wars hat and a light saber. That was probably the highlight for all of us and it made all of our day so much more special. As we went through security to head to dinner, Stephanie had been so kind to Mason and she remembered him right away. She had so many kind and supportive words for Mason. Later at Club 33, our server Kirsten, recognized us from when we were there last time. She was so sweet and excited to see us back. Then our other friend who works there, Molly, came out to say hi and visit. Then our other server from the previous time, Alistaire, recognized us and came over to share a special story he had shared about Mason. He had received an award for 30 years of working there and they had asked him to share a few words and he said he shared his story with meeting us at Club 33. Continued in comments! :D

We’ve never been to Disneyland together without the kiddos. But today was special. I’ve been coming to Disneyland since I was in a stroller, and being a member of Club 33 has been on my wish list for a very long time! After an extremely long waitlist, essay and application, followed by interview, we were accepted 🙏🏻🤍 We are so excited to part of this magical exclusive club. Also with no kids and strollers I can’t believe how many rides we got on in such little time 😆 of course over stuffed ourselves with delicious club food, the best pickles!
