A shout out to all the players on team-merman for @ourflagonmax @rafaelvalladao 3D sculpted our scales in brazil. @metmobile printed the scales here in our studio and @an.introduction.to our master mould maker made fibreglass moulds into which we began casting casting and more casting.... 3000 individual scales in multiple colours with an array of glitters from @mysticartglitters ... so so so much GLITTER! How cute does my man @metmobile look, delicately dusting glitter into scale moulds 😍 Then our lovely @homemade_byaline would come to the studio every evening and patiently trim excess silicone off scales with teeny tiny nail scissors late into the night. While this was all going on @thecreativetradecollective babes lent a hand with meticulously painting silicone scales onto our lycra tail skins (sewn and airbrushed by yours truely of course) The idea was to have a combo of hand painted silicone scales and fully cast silicone scales. The end result was SEAMLESS!!! And again.... more glitter. And I basically had my fingers in all these pies, sculpting, painting, sewing, liaising with our talented designer @gypsytaylor , casting, mixing, sparkling, sourcing, delegating, sleeping (no... no not sleeping!!!) First step to getting this mermaid tail for @ourflagonmax flipping up a storm was fabric dying. Watery tie-dye for both the skins and the fins. My tools included custom made mermaid "ironing board" and matching custom scale templates. Airbrushing all these scales on multiple tails, front and back, row by row... time consuming! ✨🐚🧡Life continues to shift, reroute, uproot, revise, transform, and I am okay with that!🧡 Life for me was always spent inside a bubble, not much ever changing, and I never was quite sure if I was meant to live more. I am so glad that’s not true today! I enjoy living outside my comfort zone or my bubble(hmm is she hinting to the evolution videos where she felt trapped inside a bubble/cocoon..mayhaps 😉), even if things aren’t planned out every single second. Living this way has changed my perspective on life, people, my beliefs, goals, boundaries, and it’s for the better. Even my mental health continues to improve leaps and bounds since shifting from my old ways. 🧡I want to also shout out to @mermaids_sheroes_entertainment for having me on the team again while I was in the Bay Area. Suffocating - 2019 ♻️ I wanted to post this picture for a really long time, but I never found the right words to go with it. I think we all know by now, that plastic is a really really terrible problem for the whole planet and every living being. When we prepared for this shoot, I realized once again, what an incredible amount of plastic waste we produce in our daily lifes. Some years ago I thought "But in Germany we recycle all of our plastic waste" - sadly we don't. Everything, that can't be recycled (and that's a lot) is shipped elsewhere and can end up in our oceans or do harm elsewhere - just like the plastic waste from other countries can. I still have a looong way to go in reducing plastic in my daily life, but I definitely want to keep trying to reduce more and more. Will you try to skip plastic wherever you can, too? ✨Orielle fun fact: did you know deciding on being a goldfish started as a joke? My first silicone tail was gold and so my mama mer called it a gold fish tail. I was a gold fish. And I remember seeing very few warm toned tails at that time, and liked how I looked in gold, soooooo I figured why not take it a step further and be a goldfish!
