Goods secured! I’ve stocked up on @wickes topsoil in preparation for the renovation to be underway. The weather has not been kind to me over the last couple of weeks - and unfortunately we’ve missed the dryer spells to get some seed down. I guess I’m living on the edge over here with my mood board flatlay, but I wanted to have it on my grid to look back on for prosperity. . I think it’s important to remember just how far you’ve come in terms of renovating because sometimes it feels like the project is standing still (definitely feeling that at the moment). . As a ‘Visualiser’ (my former career) I find it useful pulling textures, colours, linens, timber and marble together to see how everything sits side by side. . Doing this means you can instantly see if it’s working or not, and tweak your scheme accordingly, perhaps by adding a little more colour or even taking something away. . Pulling together my mood board gave me confidence in finalising the flooring, and yesterday saw an exciting moment in our renovation journey whereby I ordered and paid for the gorgeous oak flooring from @chaunceystimber who I must say have been amazing, especially Alice, who’s been incredibly patient with me! . I’m going to be a tease and say, the timber flooring I’ve chosen may or may not be pictured in this mood board, likewise with the linen which I have yet to decide on, but I have narrowed my choices down considerably, swipe to see five of my favourite linens… . BLUE SKIES ARE BACK - and doesn’t it just feel so good!! The builders are certainly much happier to be working in the sunshine and not being interrupted constantly by massive downpours. But good progress this week even with a day of no action on Monday. Felt and baton being re-done across the whole roof, the fascia’s in progress, the flat roofs in progress, the brick work being finished off. The window man is back again today for more measurements of the final window spaces that have been created. Built in cupboard for shoes, coats & bags is finally finished. I hated seeing the coats, shoes & bags especially when coming downstairs. It looked messy. Now there’s loads of storage & it’s all out of sight. I love that it looks like part of the wall with the skirting board on the side. The radiator had to be moved over to accommodate the cupboard. Costly lesson as I didn’t consider storage in this area when I had the new radiators & boiler installed 2 years ago. All part of the renovation process. The final photo was the day I picked up the keys 🔑🏡 I love how this corner has slowly transformed over the last 2.5 years. This is a project that has been going on for years in many phases. Complete with new porch pine ceiling. All walls through the main floor removed to install Open concept solid oak stairs. Exposed brick walls custom closet organizer with 3 door sliding system. The basement entrance was too small to fit a large couch down so we custom built one into the space and had cushions made and upholstered. The main feature is the kitchen with quarts counters. New shaker style cabinets and subway tile back splash with everything accented with black trim, faucet, sink and hardware. Other things completed (but couldn’t fit all the photos in) were a new bathroom, trim throughout, and we added a basement bedroom. I will truly miss this home. Carpets and I don’t get along. I’m just not a fan. I have no idea how old this carpet was (and it’s not something I want to think about) but it was disgusting so I could not wait to rip this bad boy up. But cor it wasn’t easy, we have one upstairs bathroom so it was highly inconvenient to do anything that required drying time! Anyway loads of sanding, priming and painting later we took our dusty grey carpeted stairs to our pink and black painted hallway and I’m over the moon!
