Introducing "Primrose" the latest heirloom bear in my new collection. Primrose is fully sewn by hand from gorgeous fluffy high-quality faux fur fabric and is fully jointed and weighted to give her a lifelike feel. She comes wearing her favourite dungarees with colour coordinated hat and I've finished her off with her very own calligraphy name tag and little posy of flowers. She will be available for adoption once all the bears in my new collection are finished. Primrose loves nothing more than going on beautiful walks in the countryside through meadows and woods..... she always picks herself a bunch a wild flowers to take home. I have already started the next bear in my collection (and don't my poor fingers know it) 🙈 and will keep you updated on my progress. I won a voucher to @thorpeandco Boolaroo, when the coat I made Bae came in 1st at our local show! I hadn’t actually purchased anything from Thorpe and co before- but when I walked in - this gorgeous cotton just caught my eye. I am loving chartreuse, and the pops of neon just dazzled. This material is by Kathy Doughty @materialobsession in her latest trade winds collection, called treasure flower. So a couple hours later, I’d drafted a top, pulling on some features that just feel ‘blous-y’, like pin tucks, elastic cuff 3/4 sleeves, and a button back. I cropped, as most of my pants are high waisted, and I adore the look. A little Japanese whiskey happy hour to complete my Suntory 100 year anniversary tasting and to get an introduction to the character of two other Japanese distilleries, Komagatake and Saburomaru. The Hibiki 100yr edition was promised with heavy 30yr+ Mizunara wood influence, did not disappoint and tasted nothing like the current Hibiki range. I'd like to introduce you to "Henry". He is the 1st finished heirloom bear of my new collection. Henry is fully sewn by hand with love and care and many hours have gone in to creating him. He is made from the softest high quality faux fur and is fully jointed and slightly weighted to give him a lifelike feel. He comes wearing his favourite harris tweed dungarees with label attached. I have finished him off with his very own calligraphy name tag and vintage look key. Henry is a country loving bear, enjoys clay pigeon shooting and has worked as a game keeper for the finest stately homes. What can I say about Midleton Distillery, like it or not, the giant heart responsible for keeping Irish whiskey pulsating through the veins of the world for so many years? If you’re reading this, I’m sure you’re acquainted with at least one of their expressions. . I took part in @midletondistilleryexperience ‘s Distiller’s Apprentice Tour, an interesting 3 hours experience. The guide was a nice young lad. First, after an introductory marketing Disneyland-style video, he took us through the old distillery, that now functions as museum, for some historic background and whiskey making data. The latter continued as we went through their “micro distillery” - pic from the stills are from there - where they distill their @methodandmadness . Then we went to the building called Irish Whiskey Academy where, after a pour of the very nice @jamesonwhiskey Single Pot Still limited edition 😮, triple distillation was explained and we had the opportunity of tasting and comparing 3 New Makes, one being a single pot still, another a column distilled corn spirit, and the other a single malt one. I liked very much the single pot still New Make btw. And then it was time to visit one of the still rooms in their actual distillery plant, where we saw 6 of the biggest pot stills I’ve ever seen. According to the guide, those are the biggest working stills in the world. Unfortunately pics were not permitted. After that we headed to a warehouse where we had a pour of a tasty 1998’s single pot still drawn from a first-fill Oloroso cask. And we finished at the bar with a taste of the delicate @midletonveryrare ‘s Barry Crocket Legacy. Their bar is pretty nice, btw. I stayed overtime sipping some @powers_whiskey John’s Lane 12 yrs and @redbreastirishwhiskey , both at cask strength, trying to compare them with my notes regarding @spot_whiskeys ‘ Blue Spot. Do you guys have a favourite? . Anyways, I’ve written too much already. It was a nice day but now I should go on with my Irish Whiskey pilgrimage. Slàinte 🥃

@waterforddistillery 💙🤍 . I’ve been a fan of @mark.reynier ‘s approach to whisky making since his @bruichladdich ‘s days - yeah, Mr. Reynier once was at the famous Islay distillery’s head and heart. And, in a way, I think Waterford is what Bruichladdich would have been if he was still there. By saying that I mean that the experimentation with types of barley and its terroir possibilities would be at the front of the debate. No doubt that the man is an obstinate precursor. . In 2014 Mr. Reynier bought this Guiness brewery from Diageo in Waterford, Ireland. He aimed to turn it into a distillery and, by the end of 2015, New Make was already being produced onsite. Nowadays Waterford produces 600.000 LPA per year according to the tour guide.  . Btw, tour of the distillery is quite nice, specially for Waterford fans or tourists alike. It starts in an old brewery site that functions more like a museum before heading to the distillery per se, where we go through the usual basics of any distillery tour - I was quite puzzled by their unusual mash filter and disappointed we don’t get to see one of their warehouses though - before ending in a nice tasting. There the guide, that I guess is also their brand ambassador for the moment, did his best to take us through the concepts of Arcadian Farm Origin, Single Farm Origin and Cuvée that, if it may be a bit confusing to some, it’s also kind of charmingly practical - swipe for pics of the drams served. Btw, all of these whiskies, including the New Make and the peated expression I was able to try, share the same baked bright fresh fruity backbone that totally compensates the liquid’s youthfulness. And I must add that Waterford’s transparency - the guys give away practically a whole recipe through the scan of a QR code in the back of a bottle - is really impressive. So, what is there not to like about this brand?  . I have got a whole bunch of specific notes about the whiskies I tasted over there and also audio info regarding more technical aspects concerning the distillery but I’ll be back here later for those. And the Irish pilgrimage goes on! Sláinte 🥃  . PS: It’s frustrating there’s no @renegaderum tasting over there 🫤
