Ce livre a réussi à me faire apprécier ce personnage. Elle s'est battue toute sa vie pour son fils, elle n'a vécu que pour voir un Tudors régner sur le trône d'Angleterre et mettre fin à la guerre des deux roses. Margaret n'a pas eu une vie facile, dès sa jeunesse avec son premier mariage, l'auteur nous montre le manque d'amour qu'elle ressent autant par son époux que par son entourage. Elle se réfugie rapidement dans la religion et devient une femme très pieuse. J'avoue avoir apprécié le fait qu'une anglaise soit en adoration devant Jeanne d'Arc, Margaret se compare souvent à elle et la prend pour exemple. On pourrait croire que sa jeunesse difficile est pour quelque chose dans la femme qui sera plus tard considérée comme froide et mystérieuse. Dawn I thought was quite a misread person, she liked things the same and her love of turtles it reminded me of the book Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. She didn’t have friends, was quite structured in the way she did things and her obsession with Turtles. I felt quite sorry for her but the twist I did not see coming was Dawn & Caleb their love for each other and how they framed Natalie for what she had done in the past to Mia. Both Dawn & Caleb got their revenge. Then that body that could not be identified but eventually being told it was Tara who also targeted Mia with Natalie. I struggled to put it down when I had to. It's very detailed and the author does a great job at being able to set the scene and allowed me to create a picture of what was happening in my head. The tension builds throughout and in the second half it got quite intense and unsettling. The Ruins is unique and made me feel so uncomfortable, as if there was something underneath my skin. I loved the film, but the book is awesome. So I totally didn't finish Bookshops & Bonedust a few days ago, only to not know what to read next, noo. Anyway, I liked these two books. They're nice and cozy reads, perfect for when you need a little break in between more fast-paced books with higher stakes! | La Ritournelle - Aurélie Valognes | 📝 Contexte : Nous sommes le 24 décembre lorsqu’Aurélie apprend que cette année, le réveillon, c’est chez elle et qu’elle doit faire à manger pour toute sa famille (qui n’est pas des moins exigeantes), gérer ses enfants, mais surtout, composer avec sa mère et son beau-père qui a priori, ne peuvent se supporter et n’ont pas leur langue dans leur poche. 🌷 Avis : Léger et fluide, ce roman se lit facilement. Ce n’est pas forcément un livre dont je me rappellerai pendant longtemps mais j’ai passé un bon moment. Nous vivons un huit clos en famille un soir de Noël avec tous les clichés auxquels nous pouvons nous attendre, le beau-père bloqué au siècle dernier tant sur le rôle des femmes que l’écologie, la mère égocentrique et méprisante, la tante fo-folle qui abuse un peu trop de l’alcool et le frère réservé et marginal. La tension monte tout au long du livre et nous attendons le point de chute qui finit par arriver. 📚 #Lectureterminée C'est toi le Chat, de Laura Trompette, aux éditions Pygmalion. Pitch en 2ème photo ☝️☝️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📖 Un homme veuf et père d'une fillette de 7 ans, un chat, une jeune femme rencontrée par hasard, et quelques personnages qui gravitent autour d'eux... Une alternance de récit homme/chat plutôt sympathique, d'autant que le chat a quelques réflexions qui font sourire. Des personnages blessés qui vont s'apprivoiser, s'adopter, dans l'espoir d'aller ensemble vers de meilleurs jours. Bon ben voilà, c'est résumé et tout est dit. 📖 Si j'ai été séduite par le pitch et le titre (ceux qui me suivent doivent commencer à savoir que je kiffe les #chats 😁), si j'ai apprécié la verve féline qui j'avoue m'a fait sourire deux ou trois fois, si j'ai bien aimé le début du #roman, mon intérêt s'est fait la malle dès la rencontre avec la jeune femme explorée qui induit une suite trop prévisible et, pour ma part, très décevante. J'ai également trouvé qu'il y avait trop de sujets abordés, ou plutôt survolés. Pas assez de "profondeur", et finalement les promesses du début me laissent sur ma faim, j'attendais des émotions au vu du contexte, et j'ai fini le #livre avec l'impression d'avoir lu le scénario d'un film TV de Noël (pour ceux qui ont la ref' 😉). En los capítulos de Henry conocemos toda la verdad de la historia, incluso su implicación... Casi al final del libro vemos cómo él se convierte en aquello que tanto a odiado. Aunque parece un final feliz, un reencuentro familiar que enmienda lo que el pasado destrozó...creo que augura un nuevo drama. Review ⭐️ ⭐️ Really Good Actually follows Maggie as she navigates life after separating from her husband becoming a young divorcee. Sorry this is Not Very Good Actually. I was really disappointed in this book. I was expecting a laugh out loud story. As a person who also found myself separating from my husband at the grand old age of 30 I thought I’d find this hilarious and relatable. Une ambiance bien glauque, horrifique, et un personnage attachant. 😈😈😈 Aron est une personne handicapée, avec un physique repoussant. Moqué et harcelé depuis son enfance, il n'a pas eu une vie très facile. Un père alcoolique et une mère qui n'a que d'yeux pour sa fille. Aron n'existe pas pour eux. 😈😈😈 Aron a réussi dans ses études et il est revenu chez lui pour un petit moment. Il ne se sent pas bien chez lui non plus, il ne trouve pas sa place. En allant chez son seul ami JIM, il se cogne dans un panneau qui annonce l'ouverture d'un centre commercial bien étrange. 😈😈😈 Aron décide de faire un reportage sur ce nouveau centre commercial et ce qu'il va découvrir va le bouleverser encore plus. Dans un monde de consommation, de plaisir, ou beaucoup suivent les tendances jusqu'à se détruire. Être toujours plus beau, avoir tout , tout de suite sans attendre. I spent most of the time throwing the book down in exasperation. I could not support these characters. They felt a little underdeveloped and two-dimensional. The dialogue was exposition and not subtle enough to have me invested. It was a cool premise… not great execution… The best friend was cool, but could have communicated with the protagonist a bit better… you find out that he’s a monster and what? Sleep on the idea of telling your bestie? This book was just one long drawn out sigh. Ta historia zabiera czytelnika w niezapomnianą podróż, gwarantując mnóstwo plot- twistów, łez i uśmiechu. Na początku książkę ciężko mi się czytało i była dla mnie dziwaczna i nieco sztuczna, ale potem naprawdę się wciągnęłam. Według mnie fajnie napisana relacja pomiędzy bohaterami. Autorka zadbała o wszystkie szczegóły. Nic nie dzieje się bez przypadku, a każdy wybór pociąga za sobą szokujące konsekwencje. Książka sama w sobie jest naprawdę ciekawa, tylko zakończenie jakoś mi nie pod pasowało. Dylogia “Pod Przykrywką” jest idealną pozycją dla tych, którzy w książkach kochają multum emocji. Od tej książki nie będziecie umieli się oderwać.
