So my LP "Forever is Now" comes out Friday. Here's a little more about the cover. I designed it as a metaphor for what life feels like as an adult, especially if you have kids. When I was young the cover would have been much different but now some days can definitely feel like walking on a tightrope. You can't move back, you can't stand still and you have to be really careful about each step forward all the while trying your best to keep balanced. The album really embraces these themes lyrically and sonically. This is a heavy one. As we get older we inevitably start losing people. Even though it doesn’t make it ‘good’, it’s easier to come to terms with a loss when it is expected like a grandparent for example. When it’s somebody your age though it rattles you and you inevitably start thinking about your own mortality. “The Long Way” is very different from “Night Like This” and “Wide Awake”. It’s not designed to be a ‘single’ but it means a lot to me so I want to spotlight it. Her 6-track EP is available on all streaming platforms and is presently working on an album. Ṣẹwà is a graduate of a Music Production Program at Seneca College. She has been writing and performing professionally since 2016, but rebranded in 202 and began working alongside producer Mathew Fantini to develop her dreamy rock-tinged sound that complement her soft, airy vocals and infectious pop melodies. Her music has been featured twice on CBC’s television series ‘Strays’, a spin-off of ‘Kim’s Convenience’, and her latest single ‘Catch Me’ was featured in the credits of the latest season of ‘Working’ Moms’. Oleyada has collaborated with Toronto artists such as The Free Label and Chélle, as well as international DJs Te Pai and AXTROM. She has several more collaborations on the way, as well as an EP. Next on the lineup for the Women of Toronto winter showcase is the amazingly talented @wherethefisluna !!! 🥳 We witnessed her sing her heart out at the fall showcase open mic, and we knew from that moment we HAD to have her on the bill for this season’s event. Scroll down to find out more about whereisluna… whereisluna is a Toronto based pop singer-songwriter whose approach to songwriting is one of openness and unfiltered emotions based on her personal experiences. Her liberating lyrics tell stories of how she is embracing who she is and her uniqueness. The whereisluna moniker comes from a combination of where her head is at and the reminder of how she began her music journey—when she used to write songs on her balcony late at night, staring at the moon. For a long time, songwriting was the only constant that made her feel happy, but she always lacked the confidence to share her music.
