Skipet Wanderung Nach fast 4 Wochen habe ich es endlich auch mal geschafft eine längere Wanderung zu machen. Hier in der Nähe von Nyksund gibt es viele Möglichkeiten dazu. Die bekannte #dronningruta war leider nicht begehbar, auch wenn wir es versucht haben. Die Wanderung auf den Skipet war aber auch ein Erlebnis. Das erste Mal wandern mit Spikes und Schneeschuhen für mich, aber es hat sich wirklich gelohnt. Oft findet man eine Perle ganz unverhofft, so ist es uns auf den Vesterålen ergangen. Ganz im Norden der Insel Langøya befindet sich das kleine Fischerdorf Nyksund. Der Weg dorthin führt euch entlang des Städtchens Sortland, über ein kleines Gebirge und schließlich über eine 12 Kilometer Schotterstraße, an deren Ende befindet sich das malerische Dorf Nyksund. Das Dorf selbst versteht sich als autofreie Zone und die Bewohner haben zwei Parkplätze eingerichtet. Einer für Autos und der zweite für Wohnmobile. Für 10 Euro könnt ihr dort die Nacht verbringen und die Fischer und deren Familien etwas unterstützen. Å PUSTE MED HAVET Den lange, åpne horisonten på den ytterste yttersida av Vesterålen er noe jeg og Michal alltid, alltid vil vende tilbake til. Årene ute i havgapet ble livsforandrende for oss begge. Historiene våre er ulike, men vi møttes i Nyksund med en felles lengsel etter tid, rom og plass - til å puste, til å være, til å finne vår egen vei. Etter henholdsvis 7,5 og 6 år som fastboende var det viktig og riktig å bryte opp i 2012 - ta fatt på et nytt kapittel, prøve det som for oss da var det eksotiske rekkehuslivet i "storbyen" Harstad. Siden da har vi kommet tilbake som besøkende og også som kursholdere, alene og ilag, med våre retreatgrupper. Es war einmal ein lebendiges Fischerdorf. Ein sicherer Hafen, eine handwerkliche Fischverarbeitung, rundherum eine raue See, abgeschieden vom Rest der kleinen Inselwelt der Vesterålen. Der Rest der großen, weiten Welt erschien ganz weit weg. Dann kam der Fortschritt und mit ihm größere Schiffe. Der Anfang vom Ende. Der Hafen zu klein. Zu unproduktiv der Fischfang. Die Menschen zogen weg. Das Dorf starb aus; verlassen, vergessen. Vor einigen Jahren wurde es wiederentdeckt: als pittoreskes Ausflugsziel für viele, als weltabgeschiedenes Feriendomizil für wenige, als Rückzugsort für künstlerische Naturen für einige. Seeking to capture the unique spirit of my home region, we set up a makeshift studio in the local church at NYKSUND, a largely abandoned fishing port in Vesterälen, Northern Norway. We lived and worked together for two weeks, recording live with all of us in the room together. Close to the elements, and to history. The result is an album that feels deeply personal to me, and that sounds and feels very different to anything l’ve done before - I hope you’ll find a place in your heart for these songs, now that they’re finally out in the world! This hike is relatively easy to navigate during Spring to Autumn, offering a refreshing and rejuvenating experience. However, during winter, the trail can be challenging, especially for those with limited mountain experience. It is always recommended to take necessary precautions and safety measures while hiking during the winter season. During my trip, I used snowshoes to navigate through the deep snow, which added an extra layer of adventure to the experience. The view from the top was worth every single step of the journey. As I made my way down, the snowstorm hit the coast, and I was glad I had made it down in time. Remember, hiking responsibly and staying safe should always be a top priority.
