S I X We left Bournemouth on 29th Aug. Sixth months ago to the date, I wasn't really expecting to have a 29th Feb so here are 6 of my highlights from our big move. 1. OPAL play at school. I volunteer at Miri's school to help them roll out their Outdoor Play and Learning plan (OPAL is a school improvement programme that increases and enhances time for play in schools. Parents can ask Headteachers for it in your school!) . Going from home-ed it was really important to me to find a school that shares my ethos on play opportunities. Miri is thriving and I love being able to help. 2. Little Movers at Fabric. Absolutely love Friday mornings playful movement in a really nice dance studio and a free cuppa after. Me and Niara are having lots of preschool adventures; there is so much here for young children. 3. Seeing my folks more. It feels really good to be closer to home. 4. A visit from my Bournemouth (majority are Brummies!!) girlfriends back in Jan. Our home was filled with so much laughter. 5. Swimming 🏊🏻♀️ In the absence of the sea I've got back into lane swimming. Wednesday eves is women only; I smile and sing in the showers more. I didn't realise how much I enjoy not having men around!! The sauna and steam room have also been great through winter. 6. Drum n Bass. If you know, you know ✊🏻 Raving. Local radio shows. And.... (absolute highlight) DnB areobics. Seriously the leisure centers never been so bangin. 🙌🏻 Basically I'm getting loads more opportunities to play; doing things that are important, enriching and uplifting to me. Of course uprooting and rebuilding a community in a new place has been hard. But the freedoms fly high and lift us above the challenges. P L A Y W O R K I'm super pleased to share that I was successful at my job interview last week and will be starting a sessional #playwork job at @thetoylibrarysince1978 yes they've been playing since 1978!!!!!!!!!! Impressive. I love that I'll be surrounded by proper community-led playworkers and supporters of free play. I love that there are decades of experience to tap into and learn from. I felt right at home when I went for the interview. Their HQ is an old cottage on the edge of a big playing field with un-fenced play equipment with adjacent woodland. Before I went home I donned my wellies and took a very soggy and muddy walk through the woods. I almost fully faceplanted into the mud a few times. Though not far from a main road the birdsong was incredible. It was just £1 for each of us to get in and the face painting by @butterflyeffexltd1 was FREE and the mini carousel was a voluntary donation to Street Aid 🎠 There was brilliant music in the band stand and @ryanluke231 even managed a pint from @crbrewery 🍻 It’s not often that family days out offer such great value for money but this really was brilliant! Me & my girls 💕 This photo deserved a spot on the grid! During our visit to @oscarspumpkinpatch Flower Fete the lovely @photos_bynm was available to take photos and it was so lovely to have an opportunity for a professional photo of us 🌻 Especially when the backdrop is so beautiful too!
Core memories made today💕👑 The girls absolutely loved meeting Ariel and Moana @ruffordabbeycp today! Since seeing the list of princesses appearing at Rufford over August the girls have constantly asked if we could go on this date to see these two. They were star struck and of course Millie was dressed for the occasion 🧜🏼♀️ A lovely memory made before returning to school next week!
Meet us amongst the wild flowers 🌸🌻 What a beautiful morning out @oscarspumpkinpatch for their Flower Fete! Millie’s highlight was the tractor ride and Lola’s was the sunflowers and the cakes (of course)! So many beautiful photo opportunities, gorgeous produce and fab prices! If you’re local it’s definitely worth a trip out. They also have a maize maze for £5 per person but I won’t do one of those unless Carl’s with me as I have a fear of not getting out 😂

Just 2 weeks until full time school for this one 💕 Firstly, the holidays are going very quickly and secondly how is my baby starting school? 😢 As she’s been at nursery at school for the past year and a bit it won’t be a huge transition for her, however, I'm not ready to not have her around all day. She’s super excited but I’m not sure I’m ready yet. Do you have a school starter this year? ✏️📚
S U N F L O W E R 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 We visited @nottssunflowerexperience for the 3rd year running 🌻 We felt this year didn’t have the same magic feeling as before. We couldn’t walk through them as much as we had been able to do in previous years and I don’t know if we’d go back. They had introduced a maize maze but Evie wasn’t bothered about that.
