I had a major realization today! After another difficult morning with this guy, he later asked to go “uppies” in the ring sling and I was more than happy to oblige. He hasn’t done this in so long and it was in this exact moment that I realized the baby part of him still needs me. I admit I forget this, because he is by far our most independent little and so much of him seems to have grown up without our encouragement and yet, he’s still my baby in some ways. Maybe even in the most important ways. It was also in this moment that I told sister she could wait and that I would be taking Nathaniel to the car first. GREAT NEWS! To anyone who knew about Kingsley's Happy Tail (syndrome, yes it's a real thing) I want to inform you and all my other beloved friends and family that his tail is almost completely healed. His tail was RAW 2" from the top of his tail (third time it's been raw), NOW it's almost completely healed with only a couple centimeters to go! I can't explain in words how grateful I am, we were going to have to amputate his tail. My heart was broken for him, he was in pain. With a lot of hard work and patience his tail is almost a complete recovered. With no infections, damage to the bone and a promise that his hair will grow back (information from the vet) he will be good as new very soon!
