Although I ended up cutting that out, it stuck around in the images of this poem: light glinting off "your" parents' picture, secrets exchanged when "you" aren't in the room. Whew I was tieeed😩. After 13 stores and three different cities, we found her a dress! She might not have gotten the dress she wanted, but this is definitely the dress she needed. Because MG slayed! I also learned a lesson while spending this week with my daughter getting dressed. Parents...be there for your kids for the little and big things...for the things that make you proud, but also the things that disappoint you. Protect your children's heart against this evil world. I found things out through my daughter that I wouldn't have ever imagined her feeling. The pressures of this society will eat your children up if you don't constantly guide and encourage them. Teach them to love who they are. Teach them that anybody that loves them will love them for who they are. Teach them that these social norms suck and that they can be anybody they want to be!!
